• Life Imitates Art: While the idea of going to the moon was not a new concept in fiction when the short premiered, at the time, the idea of actually going into space was considered too far-fetched to be anything beyond fantasy. Several years later, however, the Space Race between the United States and Soviet Union would kick off, with both superpowers sending animals into the stars as part of it, paralleling the short's premise of a team of scientists sending Bugs to the moon.
