  • Cowboy Be Bop At His Computer: An Exclaim! review for Good Kid 2 misquotes some of the lyrics to "Everything Everything". In particular, "it was a city of jade" becomes "it was a city of faith", and "I'm still here, I lost everything, everything" becomes "I'm still here, amongst everything, everything".
  • What Could Have Been: According to Michael, the line "I'm moving to L.A." in "Tell Me You Know" was originally "I sit in a cafe", but it was "quite underwhelming" to sing with the pause afterwards, so it got changed.
  • Write What You Know: The chorus of "Tell Me You Know" was inspired by a breakup David had before writing, when the song was just an idea. According to David, "it was a very good breakup" since both of them felt the same way and they were just "emotionally exhausted after dating for 3+ years and wanted the best for each other." Then Nick wrote the rest of the song with the much more exaggerated and funny parts. David also said he's still good friends with his ex and she loves the song.
David: So that’s where "tell me you know, tell me it’s okay.” Comes from - meaning “tell me I’m not the only one feeling this way."
