• Banned in China: Banned in the US due to the Hays Code's restrictions, although it did play in limited independent cinemas.
• The Danza: Middle name variety. Eva was Hedy Lamarr's middle name.
• Enforced Method Acting: In order to get the desired reaction for Eva's orgasm, the director was just off camera poking Hedy Lamarr with a pin.
• Pop-Culture Urban Legends: Hedy Lamarr claimed in her autobiography that she was tricked into doing nude scenes, and that there had been none in the script, as well as the director pressuring her to do them under threat of having to pay for costs of already shot scenes if she quit. Other people have disputed the story, with some actresses saying they turned down the role because nudity was required, and the film's cinematographer stating that Hedy Lamarr would have known from the beginning that there would be nude scenes.
• Romance on the Set: Aribert Mog and Hedy Lamarr were engaged during filming. She would however marry Fritz Mandl afterwards instead.
• Underage Casting: Hedy Lamarr lied about her age when she auditioned - she was only 17.
• What Could Have Been: Mexican film star Lupita Tovar was the first choice for Eva, but her husband made her decline the role because of the nudity in the script.
