• What Could Have Been: As the episode features a teen mourning the suicide of Kurt Cobain, Nirvana songs exclusively were planned to be used in the montages. However, the producers were unable to secure the license to their music, so songs from other alternative rock bands such as The Smashing Pumpkins and Alice in Chains were used instead. Nirvana songs were eventually used in the season 5 episode "Thrill Kill".
