• Enforced Method Acting: The scene where Miss Hopkins beats the living daylights out of Shemp after she confuses him for her "Cousin Basil" resulted in this. According to director Edward Bernds, Christine McIntyre, who played Miss Hopkins, was reluctant to actually smack Shemp for real which lead to multiple unusable takes due to how unconvincing any of it looked. Shemp, in frustration, told her to stop worrying about hurting him and just let him have it, and on the very next take she absolutely unloaded on him, finishing with a haymaker that sent him flying through the door and also broke his nose in the process. When the take was finished McIntyre ran over to Shemp and tearfully threw her arms around him, apologizing profusely. All Shemp had to say in response was, "It's all right honey. I said you should cut loose and you did. You sure as hell did!"
• Referenced by...: A clip from the climactic wedding fight scene was later used in Pulp Fiction, when drug dealer Lance is shown watching it on TV. The scene actually required a bit of finagling on Quentin Tarantino's part. He didn't have permission to use the likenesses of the Stooges, as they were still under copyright. But, since "Brideless Groom" is in the Public Domain, Tarantino used footage from this short, making sure not to show any of the actual Stooges onscreen. Emil Sitka was even given a screen credit for the archival appearance as 'Hold Hands You Love Birds'.
