• What Could Have Been: Originally, Steve Ditko drew this piece to be used as the cover. It was rejected at the last minute by Stan Lee, who had Jack Kirby draw the cover we got. It was later used◊ as the cover for the 700th issue of The Amazing Spider-Man (1999) over 50 years later.
