Tear Jerker / Thanksgiving (2023)

  • The whole "Thanksgiving, not Thanksbuying" movement going on in the background of the movie. It is clear the Black Friday massacre at the start of the movie greatly traumatized the town of Plymouth to the point of its people protesting the opening of RightMart during Black Friday in favor of spending time with their families, especially for those who lost members of their families during the massacre. For people who actually lost family members in real-life Black Friday riots, this is bound to hit home.
  • Scuba's reaction to Yulia's death is this mixed with Nightmare Fuel due to how distressingly realistic it is. He doesn't scream or sob, he merely holds Yulia's dying disemboweled body close with a near-catatonic stare while asking Jess what to do.
  • The old man's death during the Thanksgiving Parade. He is brutally pierced by complete accident by the RightMart float's Mayflower boat's bowsprit, right in front of his two young granddaughters who were in the car with him, both of them screaming and crying as his blood sprays on them. For anybody who has lost a grandparent, this scene will emotionally scar you.
  • Despite being such an absolute shitbag, Evan's death is still met with sobbing and grief from his friends, who plead with Carver not to kill him as he pitifully screams and begs for mercy before having his head smashed into a pulp. The scene can be considered sad in a pitying sense.
