  • Just... Peter's situation when the story opens. He died from fighting a genocidal alien warlord, and now he's stuck in another dimension without any means to come back to his loved ones.
    • Even ten months afterwards, he's unable to sleep without suffering nightmares and hearing a fingersnap makes him visibly flinch.
  • Mt Lady bitterly musing about people throwing their kids in the street, only for having a "troublesome" Quirk. Remember that Quirks emerge in toddlerhood, and Mt Lady's Gigantification power is very much destructive and impractical. No wonder she was so vehement about not letting Peter go into foster care.
  • In the USJ attack, the Iron Spider armor is destroyed by the Nomu. The last gift Peter received from Tony Stark and the last reminder of his home dimension, gone.
    • The good news is that while this is literally true, in that the Iron Spider Armor was the last thing Tony gave Peter, he still has the suit he had on before that, which contained the Karen AI. This was also made by Tony.
  • After Peter wins the U.A. Sports Festival, he explains why he went ballistic on Bakugo. His temper having cooled and asked to confess his reasons by All Might, he winds up a sobbing mess by the time he was done, both for his older wounds reopening and newer ones from almost killing someone in a fit of anger.
  • Naomasa calling Gran Torino to inform him that examining the League of Villains' lair gave the police a link to a cold case — Shimura Kotarou's murder, along with his entire family's. Sorahiko is reducing to sobbing when he realizes all of Nana's efforts to protect her son were ultimately All for Nothing.
  • Karen's reactivation is marred when she understands how long she was inactive, and what being in another dimension means for her and Peter's home universe. Actually, it might be worse for her — if Stark was Peter's mentor, he was for all intents her father, and now he's gone.
  • Okay, Bakugo is undoubtedly a dick, but his entire situation after his brutally one-sided loss to Peter is so depressing that it's hard not to feel sorry for the guy. He even contemplates killing himself with his Quirk and only doesn't go through with it because his Quirk isn't working and because All Might shows up.
  • All Might telling Bakugo about when he failed to save his master is pretty depressing on both sides.
    • All Might explaining this to his young student reminds the audience that he knows what it's like to lose, and it's a solemn reminder of how much the loss of his beloved mentor has effected him and how he wishes he was able to save her.
    • Bakugo, however, lashes out in rage and accuses All Might of lying to him. While this would take away sympathy from him, think about it from his perspective. Bakugo, after he lost all form of confidence, is being told by his idol that he's suffered losses and knows what he's going through. For Bakugo, he's basically being told by the man he admires most, combined with the full awareness that he's not the best and likely never will be, that not only is his dream of being the hero that never loses not possible for him, it was never possible in the first place. At this point, he's trying desperately to hold onto what little hope for his dreams he has left.
  • Pony’s unfortunate rejection. While Peter certainly didn’t mean for it to be harsh still very much hurts. Especially with how genuine Pony was and her trying to not show how hurt she really was by it, but Peter can tell she was hiding her feelings, and just couldn’t find the right words to say to make her feel better, if there was anything. This one's rough on both sides. Obviously, there's Pony's heartbreak at getting rejected by her first love and all that. But then there's Peter. She's one of his best friends, the last thing he wanted was to put her through any of this, and he even considered briefly saying "yes." Except... he just didn't feel the same way back, and that it wouldn't have been fair on either of them. This leaves Pony running out in tears, Peter feeling like an ass, and no one to really blame, as this is just an unfortunate reality of growing up.
  • Mirko's reaction to Peter going behind her back in order to capture Stain, resulting in the revelation of why she works alone: she once had a teammate and something happened, resulting in her losing said teammate. Which is why she now hates working together as she doesn't want to experience the pain again. Also her ending Peter's field experience early because as much as she has grown to like him, Mirko realizes that until he fixes himself, Peter would endanger not just her livelihood, but also her employees'.
    • This then followed by Peter's realizing that his action could cause not only problem for Mirko, but also potentially caused him to be expelled and even get Yu, Araki, and Fukuda in big trouble due to forging his identity.
    • On his way home, Peter sees Izuku being scolded by All Might (who he doesn't recognize due to All Might's in his sick form), who reminded him of Tony's words during Homecoming after his screw-up with the ferry.
    • Finally, there's Peter telling Yu about his exact past and reveals what has been troubling him.
  • Mei Hatsume breaking down after the I-Island incident. She found herself incapable of helping Peter, thinking she had failed to support him when he was severely injured.
