This is a list of sad moments from Algicosathlon. WARNING: SPOILERS ARE UNMARKED.
Pre-Algoliens
- Pink's Discovery. Pink was rejected from her favorite paradise for an incredibly petty reason: She cared more about it than the competition. Not helping is her crying and the fact that it would later be revealed that Magenta was rejected too for a sexist manner, which is being too "stylish". In the finale the other athletes don't get much comeuppance for this, but Bob ordered them to find the two girls. But it's also heartbreaking as none of the other athletes apologized for their cruelty.
- In Season 1, Day 9, Lavender almost made it into the bowl to finish in 6th place, but Purple, her teammate, shoved her out of the way and took the place. Lavender got last. It's horrible when it's revealed that they're an alliance and Purple straight up betrayed her like that. Lavender gets eliminated next episode. Technically it's forgiven since they're ragdoll physics.
- Sea Green's reaction when Chartreuse was eliminated in 5th place. It was revealed that they are best friends and Sea Green looked up to him and his skill to get far. Sadly, Sea Green would be eliminated a day later, but all four players left at the time all had different reasons to be rooted for.

- This post
talks about Magenta's childhood life. Her father refuses to allow his daughters to move onto a career and can go as far as abuse them with his alcoholic nature. Magenta's abusive older twin sisters, Berry and Byzantine, got hooked into alcohol as well, leaving Magenta as the Only Sane Woman since she remained the only family member under 21, and therefore cannot drink. The effects of her family made Magenta soft in personality.
