An affectionate parody is a spoof of an original work that does not openly insult it. It pays a homage to the original work instead of making fun of it. If you would like to write your own affectionate parody, it is recommended that you first read these tips:

- Try to make it funny. Use humour that fans of the piece of fiction will understand. Most of your audience will probably be fans of the original work of fiction. Try not to offend them with the humour, and show that you are also a fan of the original piece of fiction, and this is a humorous tribute to it.
