Patricia Polacco
Patricia Barber Polacco (born July 11, 1944) is an American author and illustrator. She is dyslexic, and did not learn to read until the age of 14 when a teacher noticed she was having trouble and helped her. She is of Russian and Ukrainian Jewish descent on her mother's side, and Russian myth and folklore often appear in her stories.
