• Good Is Not Nice: The episode begins with Aster and Zane mercilessly defeating two Goblin Elite monsters. Aster even refers to himself and Zane as the "Dark Hero group". It kind of reminds you that both heroes used to be villains at one point.
• Logical Weakness: Axel's volcanic deck is useless against the fire wolves. Maiden of the Aqua floods the village with her water powers allowing Axel to bind their legs and make them fall in the water.
• Mythology Gag: The Ancient Brain residing in the last remaining human village is really Skull Knight in disguise. In real life, Ancient Brain is one of the fusion materials for summoning Skull Knight.
