Go To

A chipper Nadine travels on foot to Big Ed's Gas Farm and speaks with Ed, telling him she's fallen in love with Jacoby and had an epiphany that she and Ed will only truly be happy if they separate from each other. Though Ed is reluctant, Nadine insists that they should divorce so that she can be with Jacoby and Ed with Norma. Ed visits the RR and attempts to tell Norma about this new development, but he is interrupted by Walter's arrival. A dejected Ed orders coffee while Norma meets with Walter. However, this time Norma declines to sell her franchise to Walter and cuts contact with him. She goes to Ed and they kiss passionately. Ed asks Norma to marry him.

Chantal and Hutch arrive in Las Vegas, where Chantal murders Duncan Todd and his assistant Robert. Following the warrant for Douglas Jones, Las Vegas FBI agents arrest the wrong man, enraging the local deputy director. Meanwhile, a still near-catatonic Dougie eats chocolate cake while Janey-E gushes happily about all their recent good fortune. While watching Sunset Boulevard on television, Dougie hears the name "Gordon Cole" (a name shared by a character in that film) and seems to have a realization, with the good Dale Cooper being partially awakened. Dougie/Cooper crawls to a nearby electrical socket and sticks his fork in, causing the lights in the Jones home to flash while Janey-E screams.

The evil Cooper arrives at a convenience store where he is guided by a series of Lodge spirits, including numerous Woodsmen and a mysterious woman, to Philip Jeffries, who has now taken the form of a steaming industrial machine. Cooper questions Jeffries about the day he returned to FBI headquarters ranting about someone named "Judy", and asks who "Judy" is. Jeffries claims Cooper has already met Judy, and the machine spouts a series of cryptic numbers made of steam. Exiting the convenience store, Cooper is ambushed at gunpoint by Richard Horne, who reveals he is the son of Audrey Horne. Upon learning this, Cooper disarms Richard and tells him he will explain things while they drive.

James and Freddie visit the Roadhouse, where James spots Renee in a booth with her husband and some friends. When James says hi to Renee, her husband immediately bristles and attacks James, beating him down with another man. Freddie intervenes and knocks both attackers out with the power of his glove. Renee's husband is severely injured and starts to seize up on the floor. James and Freddie are arrested and put in a cell, where they encounter Naido, the drunken man, and Chad. Margaret Lanterman calls Hawk to tell him she is dying. In the woods, an apparently suicidal Steven Burnett rants deliriously to Gersten Hayward while brandishing a gun. They are startled by a passerby walking his dog, and Gersten flees around the large tree stump they were huddled against. Now separated from Steven, she hears a gunshot. Audrey Horne continues to argue with Charlie about leaving the house. She now shows reluctance to leave, and Charlie removes his jacket. Audrey snaps and starts to strangle Charlie. Back at the Roadhouse, two bikers forcibly displace a young woman from a booth to open seats for themselves. She remains on the floor, then crawls into the nearby crowd and screams.
