The Missing Page
It's Mr. Porter's turn to take the stand. He begins to open up about all the ways he could have helped Hannah and how he failed her by not asking the right questions and not pressing enough. He admits that he said the wrong things and the wrong times. We see the scenario that Mr. Porter has played out in his mind. He makes sure Hannah doesn't walk away and keep it to herself. He explains to Hannah that consent is very simple, the boy who did this should have made sure he had Hannah's and he didn't. He tells her that it's not her fault. He tells her that he can help her. Hannah says that it's too late.
Clay's parents have decided to take a small break. Clay asks his dad if they can leave the town and start over but his dad tells him that life doesn't work like that. Meanwhile, Justin is back at his mother's house. She won't leave her scumbag boyfriend but Justin has no plans to stay. He plans to take some money he knows is stowed away in the house and leave again. Justin still carries a phone given to him and paid for by Clay's family. He receives a message and decides he will help out Clay to discover the secrets of the clubhouse. The clubhouse turns out to be a hangout for the jocks just outside of the new baseball field.
Tony appears to be connected to one of his boyfriend's boxing clients, Lucas. Lucas has lost an eye and suffers from PTSD after a serious assault. Tony later discovers his car has been trashed and ends up fighting with Caleb. However, their fight ends up passionate and the two make out in the alleyway.
Tyler goes on a date with Cyrus' younger sister, Mackenzie. They go to the cinema and make out which leads to an embarrassing moment when Tyler ends up with a large stain on his pants. Rushing out to the bathroom, he leaves Mackenzie rather than explain to her what happened. When Cyrus asks him what happened, Tyler lies and says he had to leave in a hurry due to a family emergency.
Chloe stands up Bryce at a family dinner. Bryce asks her why she didn't up at school the next day and she lies, telling him she had to babysit at the last minute; a blatant lie. Chloe asks Bryce about his confession tape, specifically the line "all girls want to be raped". He lies and says that Clay had wound him up and he was drunk. He kept it secret so Chloe wouldn't believe the rumours about him. Bryce then offers her to come on a family trip abroad, something Chloe is excited about as she's never been out of the country before. We do see her face fall when she realises Bryce is manipulating her, just like everyone else. However, when Zach asks if her relationship is still okay, she says that they are fine.
Clay is sent to a class by the principal where he makes friends with Cyrus. Cyrus tells him that he thinks he's a badass, due to how he took down Bryce. Clay joins Tyler and Cyrus when they vandalise the new baseball field, burning the word 'rapists' in the grass. It's here that Clay notices a group of teenagers sneaking to an area outside the pitch. It's the clubhouse and the key to finding out what happened in the photographs.
Olivia hires Alex to work in the pharmacy with her and spots a woman with her teenage daughter outside. She seemingly recognises them and follows them, ending up outside a hotel. Olivia tells the woman that she knows why she's there and not to testify.
