    Arc 13. Legacy

13.1. Legacy of War

Lord Inquisitor Odysseus Tor, Battleship Enterprise, The Warp

As the Enterprise returns to Nyx, Weaver is tormented by nightmares sent by the Four, depicting precisely what is going on in the Calyx Hell Stars now that they have claimed the region. She discusses those nightmares with Inquisitor Tor to see if they provide any useful intelligence.

Lady General Militant Taylor Hebert, Battleship Enterprise, Nyx System, 2.501.312M35

Thanks to the pylons, the entire surviving Stalingrad fleet of 1,287 made the voyage from Macragge to Nyx safely. As they start travelling to Nyx III, Kratos makes a joke about Taylor's relationship with Marianne, and is sentenced to infiltration training with Pierre as punishment.

Naxos Creed, Thesalla Bar-Restaurant, Syntagma Square, Hive Athena, Nyx

Naxos Creed, recently discharged PDF trooper, ends up meeting Epona by chance while looking for a new job. He mentions that he was unable to get into higher education due to the standard education being weak in many fundamentals that the colleges took for granted, something the Adjutant admits is still on the to-do list of reforms. Epona suggests he try looking in Agri-Hive Ceres, which is about to be expanded, and then shouts out with joy as she sense Weaver's return to the system.

Sergeant Gavreel Forcas, Battleship Enterprise, Between Nyx Tertius and Nyx Quartus, 2.504.312M35

Bellona presents Liandra, who has completed her remedial training at the Arena of Blades (damaging it to the point of requiring a major redesign in the process) to Weaver, where she swears fealty in her life and beyond. Liandra informs her that she suspects that the reason why Khorne released her from service so easily was that he didn't really want her, he just wanted her knowledge of haemokinesis and demigod-forging, both of which he was able to copy and gift to more reliable servants before she gained her freedom. Lindra also makes a pass at her Empress, which is rejected.

Regent and Minister of Justice Missy Byron, Hive Athena, Nyx, 2.510.312M35

A victory parade is held to welcome the Basileia back to Nyx.

Basileia Taylor Hebert, The Gardens of Meditation, 2.513.312M35

Missy announces her intent to take a prolonged vacation after the Sanguinala - her first since arriving in the Imperium. Taylor agrees that she's earned the right to take a break, and asks where she plans on going, to which Vista says she's thinking of visiting Macragge.

Architect-Primus Cyrene Versailles, Hagia Sanguinala - under construction, 2.519.312M35

Cyrene is informed of Erebus' death, and the fact that Khorne has assigned eight Greater Bloodthirsters to torture his soul continuously. She then reports on the status of the Hagia Sanguinala and Gaius Masoleum, and inquires Weaver's latest victory will be commemorated with another great work of architecture.

Basileia Taylor Hebert, Assembly Palace, Hive Athena, 2.524.312M35

Taylor and her ministers lay out the major infrastructure projects for the next few decades.

Minister of Industry Dragon Richter, The Carmine Palace, 2.527.312M35

Budget concerns related to the infrastructure projects are brought up.

Commander Shadowsun, Hospital of the Great Angel, 2.534.312M35

Shadowsun becomes the first T'au to receive a rejuv treatment, granting him an extra twenty-five years of life. After emerging from treatment, he discusses with Weaver about how to properly integrate the T'au remnant into the Imperium as a Protectorate, and what T'au military doctrine (most notably counter-Tyranid and counter-Astartes, the better to identify weaknesses in the Codex) can be used by the Imperium.

Basileia Taylor Hebert, Fafnir Forge-Temple, 2.536.312M35

Taylor inspects the first prototypes of the Mark X Astartes Power Armour, which the Ultramarines call Lorica and the Salamanders call Deathfire. The initial results are promising, but the armor is also bulky enough that it is only really suited for Devastator Squads, as opposed to Tactical and Assault Squads, and cutting out two thirds of standard Astartes tactics is worrying.

General Werner Groener, Dominus Citadel, 2.545.312M35

Taylor meets with her generals to discuss strategic planning for the next forty years.

Regina Wei Cao, The Embassy Floor, Hive Athena, 2.551.312M35

Taylor and Wei visit the newly established embassy of the Eldaneshi Empire, as the Eldar who have sworn to Taylor have renamed themselves (in honor of the hero Eldanesh who was slain by Khaine, rather than his descendant the Queen of Blades). There they meet Aurelia Malys, who has a proposal for them: to awaken the World Spirit of Nyx.

Battle-Sister Alice Gaius, Dawn's Convent, Hive Aquila, 2.560.312M35

The Basileia inspects a convent of the Templar Sororitas and speaks with some of the new initiates.

Basileia Taylor Hebert, Space Macro-Forge Terra Cimmeria, Nyx System, 2.567.312M35

The Mechanicus examine the STC that Taylor had purchased from Trazyn at the end of the Black Crusade, which is believed to hold close to a thousand templates in readable condition. The first template they manage to unlock contains the plans for constructing ansibles - FTL communication devices that do not require astropaths.

Lord Admiral Neidhart Muller, Orbital Shipyard Ferrus' Revenge

Taylor discusses the building plans for her shipyards with her naval staff. Most of their plans she agrees on, but the plan for a railgun-centric variant of the Hecate class cruiser is reduced to a single squadron's worth as proof of concept until they have proven themselves.

Admiral Oskar von Reuenthal

Taylor orders the decomissioning of several extremely obsolete mothball fleets to keep their contents from being stolen like many ships that participated in the Black Crusade had been, starting with one in Atlantis that she strongly suspects that local Planetary Governors have been poaching from as part of their plans to replace the ousted Sector Governor.

Rogue Trader Dennis Peters, The Grand Dome - adjacent to Lisa's Dome, 2.581.312M35

Dennis meets with Hebert at the birth of three new Moths - Aisha, Isidra, and Camellia. There they discuss the plans for the Rogue Traders. Wolfgang will be returning to the hunt for Terrathens shortly after his lovers finish dragging him to the altar, and Dennis plans to search for a lost Salamanders supply depot that had been established in the days of the Great Crusade.

Captain Kaidan Xia, Cygnus Spaceport, Dolos Continent, 2.590.312M35

Kaidan Xia of the Storm Lords, a White Scars Successor, visits Nyx and receives a major resupply of weapons, armor and vehicles. He and the Basileia then discuss possible worlds in Nyx where his Chapter might establish recruitment rights.

Chapter Master Jeremiah Isley, Hive Athena, 2.593.312M35

The Chapter Master of the Heracles Wardens shares his thoughts of the Storm Lords with Taylor, and then receives notice that the Inquisition has significantly reduced their penance restrictions on manpower and equipment. He then reports that trouble is brewing in Atlantis, at a level beyond the level of the squad-sized task forces the Heracles Wardens are capable of deploying can contain.

Basileia Taylor Hebert, Hagia Sanguinala - under construction, 2.599.312M35

Taylor discusses the problem in Atlantis - namely, that in the absence of a competent Sector Governor, every Planetary Governor is feuding with all of the others - with Cardinal Prescott.

Major-General Tanya Sevrev, Somewhere in the south of the Dolos Continent, 2.607.312M35

Tanya meets with the Basileia to discuss Guard equipment upgrades.

Basileia Taylor Hebert, Fafnir Forge-Temple, 2.610.312M35

Taylor discusses with Dragon what to do with the Ansible STC template, as well as the second decoded template, which contains the plans for at least half a dozen classes of Knight Armors.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Zoe XIX Attica, Hive Athena, 2.613.312M35

Reports have come in as to the High Lords' rulings on proposals made by the Primarchs at Macragge. The proposal to grant a rotating second-tier Senate seat to a distinguished Astartes Chapter that had recently taken heavy casualties was approved, with the honor initially being granted to the Invaders. Other proposals were not accepted.

With a new Knight STC template on hand, and with it the possibility of building a Forge to construct them somewhere in Nyx Sector, Taylor instructs her foreign minister to send out feelers about Knight Houses wishing to set up operations near Samarkand Quadrant.

Duchess Freya Brasidas, Aeronautica Imperialis Facility Number Two, Giraffe Spaceport, 2.618.312M35

Weaver discusses the future of the Aeronautica in Nyx with Freya. Research on a successor to the Marauder bomber has been pulled from the budget, with that project being reassigned to Alamo and Wuhan. Freya's efforts on a new interceptor are approved.

Leet, Hive Athena, 2.620.312M35

Leet's drone-racing competition with some Tech-Priests is interrupted by the arrival of Weaver. She actually approves of his latest drone design (apart from the Pokeball aesthetic), but she tells them to hold races after working hours.

Basileia Taylor Hebert, The Basileia's Spire, Hive Athena, 2.626.312M35

Taylor and Wei discuss what to do with Leet.

Archmagos Desmerius Lankovar, Battleship Standard Template Construct, Nyx System, 2.637.312M35

Lankovar presents the Manta, a T'au-designed fighter craft that he thinks can be modified into an Aegis-equipped escort for Moths.

Commodore Yang Wen-Li, TFNS Spirit of Eternity, Somewhere in the Nyx System, 2.655.312M35

Yang Wen-Li discusses his past and life in the now long-dead Federation with Weaver over lunch.

Sergeant Gavreel Forcas, Hive Athena, 2.671.312M35

Liandra engages Kratos in a hand-to-hand training match, and kicks his ass. She then offers to teach one particular Eldar martial art, Dromloch (the Cosmic Serpent) to Weaver.

Vicequeen Marianne Gutenberg, The Basileia's New Baths

Taylor soaks her bruises from the martial arts lesson in a bath with Marianne, and finds Liandra inviting herself in. Liandra tells them that barring severe injury, Taylor could easily live to be twenty thousand, so she needs to prepare for either making her closest comrades have comparable lifespans, or living a very lonely life. She then makes yet another pass at Taylor, and it takes twelve Adjutant Spiders with nets to drag her out of the bathhouse.

General Paul Dundee, Invictus Citadel, 2.674.312M35

The Imperial Guard is gathered for the initial planning of Weaver's next military expedition. Operation Hell Garden: a mission to exterminate the Tyranid presence on Catachan.

Valkia, the Red Angel, Caedes, Temporis Cruor System – formerly known in Imperial cartography as the Lathes, Calyx Hell Stars, The Milennium of Ashes

While claiming a long-lost supply depot of Iron Hands wargear, Valkia starts listing the requirements she has for the next generation of military hardware she wants to equip her armies with.

General Jack 'Death' Schwarz, Invictus Cathedral, 2.675.312M35

General Death goes over the plans for Hell Garden, which is expected to be launched shortly after the new year.

13.2 Legacy of Decay

Liandra of Caledor, The Hope Beacon - under construction, Somewhere well below the surface of the planet, Somewhere in the south of the Dolos Continent, Nyx III, Nyx System, Nyx Sector, Ultima Segmentum, 2.912.312M35

Weaver inspects the incomplete Hope Beacon, which when completed will act as a secondary Astronomican powered by the Moths. The construction is going well, but Liandra voices a concern: while she personally is sufficiently skilled as a Bonesinger to create the Sacrifice-consecrated Wraithbone intended to connect the pieces, the sheer amount of Wraithbone necessary would take years to create and shape. Weaver instructs her to quietly contact Aurelia Malys to see if she can provide additional Bonesingers.

Basileia Taylor Hebert

The conversation changes to the matter of the Tyranids. Liandra reports that the corruption of the krakens on Fenris was likely caused by Behemoth tainting the World Spirit of Fenris, and the extreme Death World status of Catachan is likely the result of a more complete corruption of its World Spirit. Given that, it is likely that Tyranid advance forces will likely seek out other planets with World Spirits - something they unfortunately don't have a list of, as World Spirits were created and distributed by the Old Ones during the War in Heaven.

With this in mind, it becomes clear that eliminating the Tyranids infecting the World Spirits they can find must be priority targets to prevent them from being reabsorbed into a Hive Fleet proper. However, given the extent of corruption on Catachan, even after cleansing the World Spirit will take millennia to recover and make the planet less dangerous.

General Vincent Sharp, The Stark Redoubt, Catachan, Catachan System, 5.913.312M35

Kali the Adjutant Spider has arrived on Catachan, claiming to be an Administratum Adept running an audit. This actually causes the local PDF to try to kill her several times before General Vincent Sharp can get them to stop - thanks to the Munitorum regularly demanding an outrageously high percentage of the population for the Guard tithe, Catachan has been maintaining their population at a sustainable level by underreporting their actual population by a factor of three hundred, something they are willing to kill to keep secret. Kali promises to help keep the secret, and provides the general with an initial briefing on Hell Garden, so he can select local troops to help with the operation.

Solar Guardian of Records Nicephorus Vandire, Imperial Navy Orbital Station Triumph of Loyalty, High Orbit over Holy Terra, Sol System, Segmentum Solar, 0.919.312M35

Admiral von Goldenbaum visits Nicephorus with the proposed order of battle for the attempt to assassinate Weaver as she travels to Terra for her Triumph sent by Xerxes. The Admiral is not impressed - Xerxes made his selection of ship classes based on how much money invested in commissioning said ships would flow back to the Vandire family, and the various ships that can only be built in Vandire-owned shipyards are all of classes that are unproven at best and proven to be unreliable at worst. The Admiral counters with his own proposed order of battle, which is based on operational effectiveness.

Adept-Primus Joost Harpagon, De facto Primary Headquarters of the Adeptus Almitas, Hive Cajun, Merica, Holy Terra, 0.921.312M35

Joost presents a representative of the Inquisition with a revised version of the Most Wanted List to account for the deaths, daemonic ascensions and other upheavals that had happened over the course of the 5th Black Crusade and the war in the Calyx Hell Stars. The new Top Twelve Most Wanted are, in descending order, Abaddon the Despoiler, ex-Fabricator General Kelbor-Hal, Nagash, the Chaos Android Command Core, Kel Sidonius of the Alpha Legion, Fabius Bile, the Plague Marine Gluthor Skurvithrax the Ferryman, Jago Sevatarion, Malicia the Destiny Unwritten, the Queen of Blades, the World Eater Kossolax the Forsworn and Sota-Nul.

Regina Wei Cao, Hive Athena, Nyx III, Nyx System, Nyx Sector, 2.932.312M35

Wei petitions her wife for the skilled manpower needed to build some Agri-Hives on Wuhan. Taylor agrees, and then is called to a meeting with the Necrons.

Basilea Taylor Hebert, The Red Strategium

Imotekh delivers his original report on the Tyranids based on the fighting on Macragge and the records taken from the T'au. The news is not good: there are undoubtedly far more Hive Fleets than the ones known about out there, and any attempt to defeat them through attrition is doomed to failure. He agrees with the idea that the scout ships were seeking out World Spirits to corrupt so they could turn planets into research labs, reserve larders, or both, and the idea that they should be cleansed whenever possible. He requests to be allowed to have Necron Crypteks specializing in biology study captured Tyranid specimens. Weaver is in favor, but informs him that for security reasons, Tyranid corpses are not allowed to leave the system they were obtained in, so his specialists will have to travel to Catachan if they want to study what the Hive Mind did to that world.

Sergeant Gavreel Forcas, Azkaellon Stadium, 2.944.312M35

Weaver watches the Astartes Decathalon with her Dawnbreakers, and discuss a visitor who came to Nyx for the Sanguinala, Sultan Rachid al-Abbasid.

Chapter Master Michael Yarhibol, The Chapel of Hope, Hive Athena, 2.999.312M35

Chapter Master Yarhibol attends a ceremony commemorating the sacrifice of the Primarch Sanguinus and then reiterates his willingness to have the Lamenters go to Catachan as the next stop in their Penance Crusade. Weaver notes that while the Codex Astartes prevents the Lamenters from replenishing their numbers while on Penance Crusade, the rules are looser in regards to replacing lost equipment, and provides them with enough state-of-the-art wargear to equip a company.

Basileia Taylor Hebert, The Manor of Red Leaves, Ruby Harvest, Nyx System, 2.005.313M35

Weaver is accosted by Alvaraeo Huascarif a senior Adept of the Astra Telepathica who opposes the construction of new ansibles due to the threat they represent to his Adeptus' power base. When all attempts to get him to compromise on his position or even acknowledge that attempts to sabotage the effort will not be tolerated, Weaver exposes him to the power of Sacrifice until it kills him.

Archmagos Prime Gastaph Hediatrix

As Huascarif's body is taken away, Taylor discusses the ansible project with the Mechanicus. Apparently the Mechanicus only has the technical ability to make ansibles with a transmission range of twenty lightyears, and those would require a starfort to hold the equipment, power supply, and sufficient firepower to secure it. The Mechanicus also has some conditions on greenlighting the construction of new ansibles, most notably that the new production lines for Questoris Knight Armors only be built at Alamo within the Nyx Sector, and that ansibles are not sold to Archmagos Cawl.

Lord Admiral Neidhart Müller, Battleship Enterprise, High Orbit over Blue Anchorage, Nyx System, 2.010.313M35

The ships earmarked for Operation Hell Garden begin their voyage to Catachan. As they watch the ships depart, Admiral Müller presents Weaver with a proposal for the next round of Naval construction, with the Basileia is tentatively in favor of.

Admiral Oskar von Reuenthal, Victory-class Battleship Son of Victory, Approaches of Mothball Fleet Space 'Sublime Hierophant', Schubert's Grave System, Uta Sub-Sector, Atlantis Sector, 4.013.313M35

Admiral von Reuenthal arrives in Atlantis to begin his mission to audit the mothballed fleets, and catches two pirate ships red-handed as they attempt to boost a battlecruiser, while the cruiser responsible for patrolling the fleet passively watches. Not wanting a battlecruiser, even of a long-obsolete class, to fall into pirat hands, he orders his command to battle stations.

Archmagos Dragon Richter, Hive Athena, Nyx III, Nyx System, Nyx Sector, 2.018.313M35

The Council of Nyx discusses plans for educational reform. With the Mechanicus refusing to allow Implant L-110011 to be in anyone who isn't at least a lay member of the Adeptus, Weaver commissions Dragon to see if she can find an economical lesser version of the data access implant that can be given to the general population of Nyx.

Sergeant Igor Vichev, Training Zone Gamma-Three, 2.022.313M35

Igor Vichev, veteran sergeant of the Fay 20th, is assigned to test out a new model of Ryza-built plasma cannon, which is designed with multiple barrels on the theory that by the time that all of the barrels have been fired from, the first barrel will have cooled sufficiently to be usable again in the hopes of the avoiding the cataclysmic overheating issues common to plasma weapons.

Rogue Trader Magdalena Orpheus, Headquarters of the Nyx Compact, Jaghatai's Celerity Shipyard, Nyx System, 2.031.313M35

The inaugural meeting of the Rogue Traders of the Nyx Compact is held.

Basileia Taylor Hebert, The Umbra Mobile Docks, Somewhere in the Nyx System, 2.049.313M35

Taylor presents models and prototypes of Nyx-built ships and equipment intended for the Assassinorium to Operative U, a representative of Grandmistress Callista. He in return passes along a message from his mistress, that high-ranking members of the Eversor Temple had been seen in close association with the Vandires.

Lord Inquisitor Odysseus Tor, Location classified, Date classified

Tor presents Necron provided star charts to an Inquisition conclave. The maps prove that contrary to Eldar claims, the C'Tan had been winning the War in Heaven until the Necrons betrayed them, something that convinces them that any discovered Necron Pylons should be left alone and not disassembled for the Noctilith. They then turn their attention to the Maelstrom, a Warp Storm that had already been a fixture of the galaxy during the War in Heaven, and what might be needed to finally close it.

Primarch Mortarion, The Plague Planet – Death Guard Homeworld, The Eye of Terror, Temporal Anomaly – Date Estimation Impossible

Nurgle is unpleased at how six out of seven Death Guard to have fought against the King in Yellow fell, and takes it out on the two surviving officers. Typhus has been turned into a Daemon resembling an Old One, chained to a rock, and is cursed to perpetually hunger while food lies just out of reach and Nurglings destroy any he tries to get to. Mortarion has been chained to a throne with a mystic plant growing out of it and into him. The fruit of this plant draw from the Primarch's essence and become a crude progenoid substitute, able to turn those who eat them into Plague Marines if they survive the experience.

Regina Wei Cao, Somewhere under the surface of Nyx, Nyx System, Nyx Sector, 2.150.313M35

Taylor reveals to Wei and Marianne that as a side effect of drawing on Sacrifice too deeply, she has been rendered incapable of carrying a child to term. Wei and Marianne counter that they can have a gene-lab splice Taylor's DNA into some of their eggs and have them bear the children instead.

Colonel Angelos Livopopoulos, High orbit over Hishrea, Imperial Transport Starry Sight, Argovon System, 3.156.313M35

Angelos Livopopoulos of the Nyx 875th and his men are deployed to help the initial colonization of Hishrea from Nova Fenris. Upon landing, they are greeted by Leman Russ, who is also there for the same reason.

Captain Ajax Myrmekes, Hishrea, 3.160.313M35

The 875th finds a Necron Tomb, which is fortunately totally asleep, allowing the Winter Sharks to secure it without casualties. Within the tomb, Leman Russ finds a chamber that provides visions of disasters both past and future. After showing scenes from the Heresy and the Black Crusades, it shows a new vision or warning centered around a Necron symbol. Russ leaves to report his findings to Terra and Nyx.

Basileia Taylor Hebert, Gaius Mausoleum, Claire 47, Claire 47 System, 2.164.313M35

Taylor is visiting the Gaius Mausoleum when Russ' report comes in. The symbol that Russ interpreted to mean Terror is revealed to be the crest of the Maynarkh Dynasty, a Necron faction that all her Necron allies agree are dangerous, but none of which have the slightest idea where to find.

Chapter Master Jeremiah Isley, Kolskov, Kolskov System, 3.192.313M35

Weaver travels to Kolskov to inspect the world under the rule of a new Governor, and quickly concludes that he's an idiot.

One issue with the governor is his unwillingness to allow the Sirens to continue residing on his world. The Sirens are told that they can try bargaining with the Inquisition for a planet of their own, but in the short term they can be relocated to an aquatic sub-habitat of the Arena of Blades, on the condition that they behave around the Queen when she visits. Lox'ena is willing to agree to that last, as the Queen apparently did something spectacularly violent to her people at some point in the past.

Archmagos Desmerius Lankovar, City of Fio'ala, T'au, Ouralia System, 3.214.313M35

The Mechanicus reports on what pieces of T'au technology they are willing to approve for use in the Imperium.

Basileia Taylor Hebert

Taylor inspects a T'au school, and learns that after she claimed the Earth Caste and the Ruinous Powers claimed the others, no non-Earth Caste T'au have been born on their homeworld since.

Basileia Taylor Hebert, Hive Asao, Wuhan II, Moros Sub-Sector, Nyx Sector, 3.296.313M35

Taylor meets with Guo Lin, Grand Secretary (essentially a Prime Minister) of Wuhan, to discuss technical investments that Nyx is planning to make on Wuhan.

Captain Setak Mo'ruyo, Battleship Enterprise, High Orbit over Wuhan II, 3.300.313M35

Taylor talks with Setak Mo'ruyo of the Magma Spiders and Dawnbreaker Guard about the problem of the corruption in the Atlas System. Setak, a veteran of the Great Crusade, reveals that the original grants of Planetary Governorship were dependent on service to the Imperium before taking office and that if a Governor was inept, the government could purchase the planet back and assign it to someone else. And the fact that this could be done kept the Governors honest. Taylor decides to ask Marianne to investigate if those laws were still in force.

Vicequeen Marianne Gutenberg, Saturnine-class 'Freighter' White Ducat, 3.304.313M35

Marianne reports that the law is still on the books, but that over the centuries the precedents have changed so that revocation of a planetary grant from a given house can only happen in the transition between governors. Taylor decides to ask Pierre if it's possible to arrange an accident for the three governors of the Atlas System.

Forgefather Vulkan N'Varr, Battleship Enterprise, Harbin System, 3.317.313M35

Pierre claims that he can do it, but it will require some planning, as he'll have to kill them all at the same time, and the rulers of three separate worlds are rarely close enough together for that to be possible. Taylor agrees to hold off on an execute order until he's certain that his plan is ready. With the matter of assassination tabled, Taylor turns her attention to the smugglers working on behalf of the corrupt governors, who have less protection.

Basileia Taylor Hebert, Battle-Barge Libethra, Manchester System, 3.332.313M35

Taylor meets with First Captain Suetonius Garda of the Angels Revenant Chapter. While there, she floats the idea of having the Angels Revenant take over the Atlas System should they suddenly be without a Governor, a notion they are tentatively in favor of.

Warlord Malicia, the Destiny Unwritten, Ruins of Canticle City, Harmony, The Eye of Terror, Space-Temporal Anomaly – Imperial System impossible to calculate

Malicia's bases have been hidden by Tzeentch, who has not deigned to tell her where they are hidden. Hunted by Skurvithrax the Ferryman, she journeys to the ruins of an Emperor's Children world, hoping to find something to salvage, but finds nothing.

Warlord Gluthor Skurvithrax, the Ferryman, Plague Battleship Virulent Blight, Outer edge of the Harmony System

Skurvithrax, who seeks to capture Malicia so that Nurgle can wring the secret of Parahuman abilities from her body, tracks her down. But his hunt is interrupted by a third party.

Warlord Malicia, the Destiny Unwritten, The Tunnels under Canticle City, Harmony

Beneath the ruins of Canticle City, Malicia finds one of the many gene-labs of Fabius Bile, still in use by one of his many clones. Within that lab is a clone of Fulgrim, the Third Primarch. Malicia quickly deduces that cloning the Primarchs is merely an intermediate step towards his goals, something he agrees about. Bile says that he wants her assistance with a project, and he isn't the only person interested in her. Skurvithrax is in the system, as is a third party. At his point said third party steps out of concealment: Abaddon the Despoiler.

Rear-Admiral Fujiko Yamamoto, Mars-class Battlecruiser Pax Imperium, High Orbit over Catachan, Catachan System, 5.500.313M35

The Hell Garden task force arrives at Catachan.
