Ax-Crazy: A plot point, as this is part of why Allen's willing to consider Hitomi's visions may be true. Allen correctly pegged Dilandau's character after just one look into his eyes. So, with such a Zaibach commander operating in the area, odds are good Castelo's going to get hit.
Cliffhanger: Van and Escaflowne split off from the Crusade, saving Allen and Hitomi, but leaving him pursued by Dilandau's full task force.
Foreshadowing: Allen mentions his sister, who disappeared when he was younger. While his mother is confirmed to be dead, there's also no mention of his father's fate; we'll learn why in the second half of the series.
Villain Respect: Folken's familiar with Allen's record (unsurprising as he's a Knight Caeli) and remarks it's impressive. This is why, unlike Dilandau, he takes Allen seriously (and correctly deduces the Asturian has a backup escape plan).
