The GDF places Laoshu in a stereotypical interrogation room. Gendo, Cassidy, and Taiyou question him while Marshal Pentecost and Miki Saegusa observe from behind the two-way mirror. Taiyou is back in her Red Dawn uniform just to let Laoshu know who she is, which scares him. Gendo brings up the charges against him: conspiracy to commit murder, aiding terrorists, attempted murder in a public place, and poor service hygiene at the restaurant, which he sneers at, then Cassidy adds that she learned from her investigation that he's also guilty of gun running, corporate espionage, and human trafficking.

Laoshu angrily rants about his hatred of Westerners and how their interference with his country forced him to do these things, but Cassidy calls him out on selling his own people into slavery. Laoshu says they were necessary sacrifices and Cassidy almost loses her temper. Taiyou tells her to calm down, then comments of the irony that she's the one who has to do this. Gendo tells him that if he cooperates, he'll be allowed to choose his prison. Outside, Miki remembers that they agreed to hand him over to Chou, but Pentecost says Laoshu doesn't have to know that.

Laoshu refuses to tell them anything, claiming he doesn't care what they do to him. Gendo says that's okay, they'll just have Taiyou read his mind. He panics and says using telepathy in an interrogation is illegal, but Gendo says stunts like aiding terrorists have voided his rights. Gendo tells him if he cooperates and lowers his mental defenses, he'll leave with his mind intact. He'll also be given the option to be imprisoned in GDF headquarters, where they are sure they can protect him from being assassinated by Red Dawn for failing them. Cassidy says if he doesn't cooperate, Taiyou will Mind Rape him, then they'll imprison him in Alcatraz. Laoshu faints from fright. Bemused, the three comment at least he didn't soil himself and then carry him out of the room.

Miki is very uncomfortable with these methods and is worried that Taiyou may take things too far. Pentecost comforts her and says in these desperate times, sometimes they need to get dirty to save the world.

Pentecost gets a call from someone named Joanne Johnson. She says she knows something important that is happening in the South Pacific and she must speak with him in person. It concerns a certain project.
