A real-world family accidentally finds a pipe tunnel that leads to the Mushroom Kingdom, while on their way to a vacation spot. A Mushroom Person sees them, and a spreads rumor that aliens are invading the world.
This episode provides examples of the following tropes:
- Are We There Yet?: Said word-for-word by the daughter when the family gets back to the real world.
- Gossip Evolution: The rumor balloons into more and more outrageous claims as it spreads from character to character. (e.g. increasing numbers of aliens, 20 feet tall, etc.)
- Metaphorically True: The Mushroom denizen claims that they saw a fire-breathing monster. Technically it was only the family's car smoking after crashing through two coin-block walls.
- Title Drop:Mario: Sounds like you Mushroomers are spreading "Mush Rumors"!
