Chapter 12: Kobayashi POV

As Kobayashi attempts to take charge of the group, Heine informs the group that some of them have cell phones, leading Kobayashi and the others who hadn't found them to discover them and their restrictions. L refocuses everyone on the task at hand, and Korra leads the way down a staircase in the middle of the hall.

Entering the entrance hall from one of its three staircases, Fujiwara is the first to react in shock and awe to the fairytale-like appearance from the spiral-patterned floor to the crystal chandelier and tall oak doors. Phantomhive remarks that their kidnapper has taste, to Rin's ire.

Spike draws their attention to the right doorway, leading them into a luxurious living room designed for forty people. The group settles inside and runs through introductions, Kobayashi gauging their emotions by their responses. Amid several mundane responses, Gōjō mocks Edward's size, Saitama is confused for the prefecture, Legoshi learns that the rest of them are humans, Hinata explains Saiki's speech as ventriloquism, Korra recognizes Zuko's name, and Kuroko again startles everyone who didn't notice his presence.

Feliciano then leads them to a discussion of Japanese naming conventions, leading them all to clarify their preferred names, and while Kobayashi grasps Nagisa's situation, the discussion then turns to the languages they're speaking. It soon becomes clear that everyone except Feliciano is hearing everyone speak in their own native language, leading Kobayashi to realize that their mysterious kidnapper is even more dangerous than they thought.
