''Island of Fear" contains examples of:
- Adaptational Heroism: In Mega Man X: Command Mission Spider is revealed to be Colonel Redips, that game’s true Big Bad. No such implication is ever made here, and Spider’s true identity isn’t even alluded too.
- Big Bad: Alex Wesker, as she was in the original game.
- Monster and the Maiden: Jon Talbain and Cinnamon.
