Recap / Teen Titans Go S 5 E 25 Little Elvis

Go To

The Titans don't want to deal with a dark and grim alien invasion, nostalgic for the "Golden Age" of crimefighting, until it turns out that the alien is actually Mr. Mind and they're going to get help from Shazam.

  • Brick Joke: When the Titans first meet the old sage that gave Shazam his powers, they notice his throne is positioned under a large rock, and move the throne out of the way only for the sage to move it back. At the end of the episode, as the sage notes how Shazam saved the day, the rock falls on him.
  • Emotion Bomb: Before becoming a Humongous Mecha, the Seven Deadly Sins have the power to induce their sin in those not pure of heart, such as making Robin prideful or Starfire wrathful.
  • Humongous Mecha: Mr. Mind combines the "seven enemies of humanity" into a giant robot capable of punching down buildings.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Mr. Mind would've been dealt with immediately if the Titans weren't distracting Shazam by going ga-ga over how adorable and fantastic everything about him and the Golden Age he came from is.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: Mr. Mind's plan is to unleash the embodiments of humanity's seven deadly vices, though "Lust" is replaced with "Injustice".
  • Title Drop: The Titans refer to Billy Batson as a "Little Elvis" because of his hairstyle.
  • Underestimating Badassery: Shazam warns the Titans that Mr. Mind shouldn't be underestimated when the Titans call him adorable and taunts him with apples and tiny books. In the end, they're completely ineffective against Mr. Mind and Shazam has to save the day single-handedly.
