A particularly nasty winter has hit Craiglang. The OAPs are struggling to survive. Some decide to make things exciting by taking bets on who will die next. Winston has a free electricity scheme which could save the day. Will Jack and Victor join in though?

- Black Comedy: This episode has some of the most darkest humour in the entire series. Highlights include Jack and Victor finding their friend sitting dead in his armchair, pointing at them and the 'Hypothermia Sweepstake'.
- Prison Rape: Discussed by Victor when Jack thinks about buying into Winston's latest scheme of stealing electricity to get himself through the winter.Victor: Very well, ye're a grown man, ye've made yer decision. But consider this: Ye're warm noo. But how's it gonnae be when ye're in a wee stauny jail cell, wi' nothing tae warm ye up...but a hot boaby, right up yer arse.Jack: Victor's right Winston, ye're off yer bloody heid!Winston: Aye, well, yous two run aff back tae yer iceboaxes wi' yer principles intact-Jack: And 'wir arseholes!
- Well-Intentioned Extremist: Winston has devised a way to get free electricity for himself, by rigging his meter. He also ropes other Craiglang residents to join his scheme.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Jack and Victor are outraged when they discover Tam's Hypothermia Sweepstake and call him out on it.
- Victor is the most adamant that stealing electricity is wrong and tears into Winston when he reveals his scheme to him and Jack.
