Our heroes arrive in Slateport City so May can compete in the Grand Festival. Her mother Caroline has arrived as well to cheer her daughter on. Also having arrived are Harley and Drew. Harley claims to feel remorse for the way he treated May before but the advice he gives May about how to perform during the Grand Festival makes Drew suspicious.

- Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Harley claims to have reformed and is seemingly being much nicer to May, but it's made clear to the viewers that he's just manipulating her.
- Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: As part of his manipulation, Harley tells May that she should seek advice from Norman the Petalburg Gym Leader, unaware that he's her father or that who he thought was Norman is actually James in disguise. This actually allows May and the others to foil Team Rocket's scheme.
- Troll: Harley claims that he sees something romantic between May and Drew, but it's clearly just to embarrass her and mess with her head.
