The group comes across a Niton who claims to have found the Phoenix's Mystery Disk. They're amazed by his tale of finding it, and he cheerfully offers to give them the Disk—for a price. The group trades away many of their items for what Niton claims are new and improved versions, and for the Disk, his price is Holly's dagger.
As it turns out, though, Niton is a con artist! None of the items he gave them work as planned, but before they can take revenge, the Searchers are ambushed and buried in the sand by baddies. Luckily, the bogus items Niton gave them help them out of the jam. Niton has a change of heart and returns their items, finding joy in Holly's relieved smile when he gives back the dagger.
This episode contains examples of:
- Bathos: When the Evil Jells are about to kill Niton, Tiger dramatically appears on the scene, badass music included. Unfortunately, due to Niton's flawed fur cream, he's covered in pink polka dots, ruining the effect. The Baddies' laughter at his expense does nothing to calm the already bloodthirsty Tiger down.
- Con Artist: Niton is a fast-talking salesman who gives the Searchers bogus gear. Both Tiger and Hare fall for his act.
