Lan meets an old man named Takumi Tensuke and tries to teach him to net battle properly with battle chips so he can fulfill a promise to net battle his grandson.
- Breather Episode: Aside from Mega Man listing off his double souls and mentioning their current battle against Nebula at the beginning, this episode is unrelated to the rest of Axess.
- Chekhov's Classroom: Lan, Mayl, Higsby and their navis teach Tensuke and Top Man how to net battle with battle chips, particularly the elemental advantages. Tensuke for some reason doesn't understand. When his top is infected with Mettaur and Billy viruses, he's in a panic, but quickly remembers Lan telling him electric viruses are weak to wood element and uses a Lance chip.
- Technologically Blind Elders: Averted. Tensuke's can operate a PET and build a computerized top. His problem is not knowing how to adapt to battle chips during net battles.
- Younger Mentor, Older Disciple: Lan to the seniors at the rec center, teaches them the fundamentals of net battling.
