Higsby wins bowling tickets and in an effort to better his relationship with Ms. Mari, invites her, Lan, and Mayl to the bowling alley for a friendly game. Shade Man takes the sport's popularity to stir up trouble.
- Forced into Evil: Shade Man gives Bowl Man a Dark Chip making him a Darkloid. Why Bowl Man literally couldn't refuse the chip is anybody's guess.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: During the real world battle, Bowl Man fires his Gatling Pin and Lan shoots them with a Spreader chip, taking advantage of the pins following the opponent after getting attacked, and runs towards Bowl Man resulting in him getting hurt by his pins.
- Rule of Three: Bowl Man's bowling under the effects of the Dark Chip result in Lan missing. First the ball phases through the pins, then the pins move out the way, and when the ball knocks down the pins, they land straight up.
- Throw the Dog a Bone: Higsby takes Ms. Mari warning him to play fair next time as this since it means there is a next time.
- Yank the Dog's Chain: Of course given Ms. Mari says Lan and Mayl are also coming along next time, it means it won't be a date with Ms. Mari like Higsby wanted.
