Recap / Mahabharata S 01 E 13

Go To

After the darkness of the past three episodes, we finally get something Lighter and Softer.

Krishna grows from an infant to a mischievous young child. He unties all cows in the village seemingly for the lulz, but when confronted about it, states that the calves have first dibs on their mothers’ udders. Later he goes around, sneaking in and stealing butter, but not for himself - he is feeding it to the displaced children of Gokul village, which Kansa had ordered razed to the ground for harboring Krishna. Among Krishna’s playmates are his brother Balaram and a poor boy named Sudhama.

The elders in this new village called “Nanda” start to fret about Krishna. His talk of “rights” could attract unwanted attention from their tyrant king. But more so, stealing butter that they must send to the palace attracts even more unwanted attention from Kansa.
