Aqours manages to pass the qualifiers, thus allowing them to move onto the finals. However, even after they get a 5-hour extension from Mari’s father, the girls fail to gain enough prospect students by a very small amount. The girls take the news very negatively and question if they can continue with Love Live.

- Hope Spot: Thanks to Aqours’ outstanding performance in the qualifiers and the fact that they were able to move on to the finals, the number of prospect students begins to increase, and just before the time limit is up, the number reaches 98...but then they run out of time.
- Insert Song: “Sora mo Kokoro mo Hareru Kara”, a song that comes with the first season’s second Blu-ray DVD and is initially sung by the second-years. Here, it’s sung by all nine members.
- Wham Episode: Despite being given a 5-hour extension, the girls fail to gain the 100 prospective students they need to save Uranohoshi, therefore shutting it down. Chika and Mari do not take this well.
