Before falling into hibernation, Barry tries telling Chiko to do something very important for him, but before he could finish, he falls asleep, leaving Chiko to wonder what he wanted to say. Carlin suggests that Chiko should try to act like Barry to figure out what exactly he wanted to do. Chiko tries to act like Barry, playing on an accordion and digging a patch, but it doesn't seem to work. Chiko decides to figure it out on the way.
While going through the blizzard, he encounters Dokko. He mistakes Chiko for Barry, due to him wearing his hat, and asks if he could help him get his fishing pole out of frozen ice. When he helps Dokko, it turns out he caught a very huge fish. Later, he meets Olga, who asks Chiko to handle her firewood for her. She then invites Chiko for tea, but he refuses, saying he has an important job to do. However, he later encounters Pin, whose vacuum cleaner has gone haywire. Chiko distracts it with some trash and it lets Pin be.
Chiko continues to search for the important thing Barry asked him for, until he finds a greenhouse with a banana plant in it, realizing that's what Barry wanted him to tell about. Next spring, Barry doesn't remember helping his friends, so Carlin tells Chiko that he should reveal it was him. However, Chiko tells him it was still Barry, but with a little bit of hedgehog in his heart.
