Carlin and Barry are playing chess. Carlin loses his queen and tells Barry that he had a bad luck streak all day. Barry puts forward a theory: if Carlin is unlucky, then the others around him should be lucky because he pulls all the failures on himself. Barry decides to use it to collect honey from his bees without getting into a trouble with them. He shows Carlin the protective suit that Pin made for him but is not too comfortable to wear. Barry suggests that Carlin put on a suit and stand next to him while he collects honey to which Carlin agrees.
Barry puts a suit on him and opens the first hive. Suddenly, the pants fall off the suit and the bees start biting Carlin. Barry is surprised the suit could do that, but continues to collect more honey. More and more bees are heading to Carlin, but one of them notices that Barry is stealing their honey, and they return. In an attempt to retreat Barry accidentally destroys all the hives, from which even more bees break out and attack him.
Barry and Carlin are sitting in the house, badly bitten. Carlin thinks he infected Barry with his bad luck, but his friend rejects this and offers to walk Carlin home. As they walk, they talk about becoming very lucky when their streak of bad luck ends. They do not notice how stones and trees are fall just behind them or how bridges are formed by themselves across the river and the abyss.
Tropes:
- Laser-Guided Karma: For trying to exploit Carlin's unlucky streak for his own gain Barry ends up stung by bees himself.
- Not My Lucky Day: Carlin had a lot of misfortunes that day. According to him, he fell off his bed, had a trouble with boiling water in the shower, and his tea mug, newspaper and the chair all broke. Then he tried mushroom picking, but only found fly agarics, then the wind blew him away as a storm began. He hid under a tree, but got hit by the lightning, and on the way home he had to go through a ravine filled with water, only to fall off the bridge.
- Pinball Projectile: Barry launches a plum bone and it ricochets off the walls and falls into the plate. Later, he launches another bone through the window, which bounces off the pot and knocks the caterpillar off the pumpkin.
- Scary Stinging Swarm: After putting on Pin's suit, Carlin is attacked by angry bees, because they assumed he's here to take their honey. Then they notice Barry quietly taking it away from them and attack him instead.
