It's all dry around, so Krash and Chiko want to water the lawn with a hose, but it does not work. Krash sees Wally and is surprised that he walks around with an old patched umbrella, especially since there are no clouds in the sky. Suddenly the hose starts working and the water knocks out all the patches from the umbrella. Krash wants to throw it out, but Wally prevents him from doing so and leaves to put new patches. When Wally finishes work, Krash and Chiko give him a new umbrella and Wally gratefully accepts the gift.The next day, Krash and Chiko see that Wally still uses an old umbrella. Wally tells that he can't throw away the old umbrella because he had many interesting stories with it. He considers it a part of his biography. Suddenly a storm starts and a strong wind blows Wally away with an umbrella. Chiko and Krash try to detain him, but they are also carried away. Wally refuses to let go of the umbrella and asks his friends to save themselves. But if Wally can't let go his umbrella, so can't Krash and Chiko. The trio is carried into the sea. Wally breaks down and lets go of the umbrella with tears in his eyes. Friends row to the shore on a log.
The next day, Wally starts using a new umbrella. He notices that it is not bad and feels that many interesting stories may be connected with it in the future. Krash and Chiko's pump starts working and the hose sucks in Wally's umbrella. He pulls it out, causing the umbrella to tear. Wally is happy - a new story has begun.
