"Okay Poindexter, let's have the formula for the secret rocket fuel."

General Clang and the Secret Rocket Fuel is a 1960 Felix the Cat cartoon and the 56th episode of the Felix the Cat (Joe Oriolo) series.

One night on the planet Mars, Master Cylinder and General Clang have all their rockets out. There's only one problem, Master complains, only getting Poindexter, who's got the fuel in his head, can get the fuel. So Clang puts a disguyise on, and gets a zipper-equipped teleporter box to get to the lab, Felix and then Poindexter, both of whom he fools in his diguise. He then, offering a pendulum, uses the same attempt Poindexter himself would when he rescued the Master Cylinder, and that the Professor would when Rockbottom tried to swipe Felix's diamond tree but mistook the squeezing "Squeezum" pant.). Soon the boys get hypnotised, with the quid kidnapped Poindexter. Soon Feix sees Poinsy's flying saucer, and takes off to Mars with it, and lands there.

Poindexter makes a final offer: "No Felix? NO forumalu", prompting Gneral Clang dangles the junior scientist over a bottomless pit, then let's Poindexter slip Felix winds up in the Cylinder's claws, dropped into the well, but he is rescued by a talking tree! Luckily, it's a martian in disguise. "We're fighting Gen.Clang. Same as you". When asked about Clang, if HE'S a Martian, the Martian "tree" explains that Clang's just a "refugee from a Coney Island Greek show", then Felix sees and catches Poinsy in the pit.

Meanwhile, it's noticed back on Mars that both escaped.,.,even Poindexter. "Butter-tentacled", admits Clang, whom Master adds is "butterbrained. YOU'RE demoted to Private detail. Report to me at once'."Yes master". Meanwhile, Felix and Poinsy have gone into the latter's trusty flying sacuer, and have now taken off as the "tree" seen before now waves at our heroes.

Felix then laughs on a star in space.

Tropes:

  • Aliens Are Bastards: General Clang. He's an alien and a bad guy who willing serves Master Cylinder in his schemes, including times when he wants to kidnap Poindexter.
  • Offscreen Teleportation: occurs at the end when Felix goes from the ship to the star, where he's laughing on it.
  • The Stoic: Poindexter is completely unfazed by the demands of Master Cylinder. When M.C. hesitates on the condition that Felix (of whom General Clang disposed) join him, Poindexter calmly says "No Felix...no formula."
  • Teleportation: Clang has a portable teleporter (a small box that he can zip open) which he uses to kidnap Poindexter.
