The Golden Nugget is a 1961 Felix the Cat cartoon, directed by Joe Oriolo and distributed by Trans-Lux.
Felix arrives at a spot in the arctic where he believes he'll find gold. Felix begins searching, and quickly comes across a golden nugget glistening in the snow. He sees Rock Bottom nearby, also searching for gold, and hides his nugget inside a nearby tree. Felix climbs up the tree as Rock bumps his head into it. The gold nugget falls out, and Rock gets excited at this discovery. Professor arrives nearby, and Rock doesn't trust him, so he runs off and hides the nugget in a small hole in the snow. Professor unwittingly walks into this very hole, and gets excited that he's found gold. Professor sees Rock nearby searching for gold, and doesn't trust him, so he runs off to hide the nugget. Ironically, Professor hides the nugget back in the tree where Felix is. Rock Bottom comes back and bumps his head into the tree again, and thinks the nugget that falls out is another gold nugget. Professor arrives and starts bickering with Rock over who the nugget belongs to. Felix comes down from the tree and tells them to stop, and tells them that the gold belongs to all three of them, and that they should divide it between themselves. Felix starts picking at it with pickaxe, but then notices the nugget has writing on it. Professor reads it, revealing that the nugget is a "Genuine Imitation Gold Nugget, worth one bowl of soup at the Gold Prospectors cafe". They trade it in for a bowl of soup at the cafe and split it all between themselves. Strangely, only one part.
