Chapter 9: Photograph

After receiving Kanazawa's camera as a parting gift, Chito takes her first photo with Yuuri standing near a strange white statue, signaling "Cheese". The photo turned out too bright, perhaps due to the high sensitivity setting. As they move on to head to the brightest street light they saw that night, Yuuri borrows the camera from Chito to enthusiastically take multiple pictures of said statues scattered around the city, although some of them end up blurry due to excessive movement. Yuuri states that the statues resemble Chito's face, much to her chagrin, and tries to take a photo of her face to prove her claim. This distracts Chito long enough for them to crash into one of the statues which drops on their heads, thankfully with helmets still on. Getting up, Yuuri blames Chito for looking away while driving, which irritates her to the point where her facial expression actually changes to resemble the one on the statues. Chito smacks Yuuri and takes the camera away from her. However, when she does, the camera's shutter goes off on its own after Yuuri accidentally turned the dial on it when they collided. Chito gets a faint idea of what the dial does, but refuses to tell Yuuri. Later at night, the girls stop to eat cheese-flavored rations and inspect the camera, and figure out a few things. First, they discover the limit on how many photos they can take, with the remaining number of times currently being as high as 520,014 files. Second, the feature that they found earlier was actually a delay function that can be adjusted with the dial on the camera. Chito makes use of it to take a photo of themselves.
