Recap / Fighting Foodons E 1 Rice To Meet You

Go To

Many years ago, in a far-off kingdom, a king asked of his subjects: "Which is stronger, fried duck or stewed tofu?" Most of his servants thought he'd gone off the deep end, and summarily ignored him. But one mysterious stranger, bearing a magic card known as a "Meal Ticket," understood him completely... and with his magic, he brought the king's dinner to life. They became creatures known as Foodons, and to this day, aspiring chefs work their hardest at preparing the best meals... for battle.

Cut to the present day. Chase and his sister Kayla are the children of the legendary chef Jack. Unfortunately, it seems like his cooking skills don't necessarily run in the family. A group known as the Gluttons has imprisoned Jack due to his dangerous cooking abilities, and the rest of the town toils to build a huge statue for the Gluttons' leader, King Gorge. A cat girl chef named Clawdia plans to create a monstrously evil Foodon named Beefsteak, while Chase and Kayla plan to rescue Jack. They succeed in freeing him as well as an old prisoner named Oslo, but Clawdia's soldiers pin Jack down as she makes the finishing touches on Beefsteak. A huge cow monster is created and quickly begins to destroy the town, and Chase's father is nowhere to be seen.

Chase realizes he must create a Foodon to stop Clawdia, but all he's been able to make so far are sorry Burnt Meatballs. As thanks for saving his life, Oslo gives him a turbo-powered Meal Ticket that can even make him a great chef. Chase sets to work and creates Fried Ricer, who battles and defeats Beefsteak. Clawdia vows revenge and runs off, and Jack thanks his children for freeing him but says he must go and do battle with the Gluttons elsewhere. Chase and Kayla vow to fight them as well, and their confidence is further boosted when Jack reveals there's no such thing as a turbo-powered Meal Ticket—Chase created Fried Ricer on his own. With Oslo to guide them, Chase and his group head off.
