Mordred comes back to the table in a new outfit. Only Ruby, Yang, and Astolfo are there. As Yang gives her some food, they explain that the others went to Professor William Shakespeare's literature class. Mordred laughs because his class always makes her fall asleep. Mordred and Astolfo say they should take the two to have their weapons turned into Noble Phantasms. When they become confused, Mordred materializes her sword Clarent into her hand. Being a weapon fanatic, Ruby becomes very excited. Astolfo explains that Noble Phantasms are bonded to their souls, and anything can be one, even living beings like his Hippogriff. Ruby asks how he is a Rider when he has a sword, so the two explain that the Classes are based on personal skills and personality. You can change your Class, but the process can alter your personality or even... Astolfo cuts himself off and says to change the subject when he notices Mordred getting upset.

He asks Ruby what her dream is. She says she wants to be a Huntress, to travel around slaying Grimm. Mordred disdainfully asks her why, and she says she wants to be just like her mother. Mordred says people don't always succeed in their parents' dreams and walks away. Ruby becomes sad, so Astolfo takes her to the lab while Yang confronts Mordred. Yang asks what her problem is.

Mordred says to understand her, she needs to know about her past. Her father is Arthur Pendragon, the King of Knights. He was considered the finest Saber Chaldea Academy had ever produced, a paragon for all future Heroic Spirits. He could also change his class at will. But one day, attempting this somehow turned him into a girl. Even more unbelievably, she immediately became pregnant and eventually gave birth to Mordred. As she was growing up, she admired her father and dreamed of becoming a great warrior like him. But no matter what she did, Arthur never acknowledged her. Roughly a year ago, they got into a fight and Mordred got sent to the hospital. When she woke up, she learned that Arthur was missing and no one has a clue what happened to him. Now, Mordred's goal is to eventually graduate Chaldea Academy to become strong enough to travel the world until she finds him.

Yang says she can relate, as her goal is to become strong enough to travel the world and find her biological mother, Raven Branwen. Yang hugs her as Mordred says Ruby's words struck a nerve and she is sorry. Yang then tells her Ruby's mother did not want her to be a Huntress, so it was Ruby's own dream all along. Mordred decides to smoke, but can't find her cigarettes. Yang says she threw those away. She says she was doing her a favor as cigarettes are unhealthy and stink, but Mordred is furious and chases her.

Cinder and Archer greet Mercury in the infirmary as he wakes up. He claims he almost won against Gilgamesh, but they say Emerald recorded the fight on her scroll and he never stood a chance. Archer explains he used his ability to create new legs for him, which are stronger than the originals, but warns him not to challenge Gilgamesh again. Since Mercury is injured, he's exempt from class for now. As they leave, he asks Cinder what's Mercury's story. She explains that he had an abusive father, but he is rid of him. He asks what Mercury's goal is now. She says he just wants to be free to do what he wants to do. She then says that's enough questions as they have class. He wonders how she can be so vague and so straight forward at the same time.

Gilgamesh, back in his regular clothes, is taking a walk when Mordred knocks Yang through a wall and almost hits him. Yang gets up and greets him, and they shake hands. Mordred says she calmed down, but is still upset about throwing her cigarettes away. Gil complements Yang's hair, calling it a treasure. Mordred gets confused when the two stop and stare at each other, then reminds Yang they have things to do. As they leave, Gil laughs and says all these exchange students are entertaining.
