Recap / Fates Collide Ch 38 Connections

In the library, Blake manages to set up a video chat with Sun Wukong, which wasn't easy because the signal between Vale and Apocrypha is poor. Sun says nothing interesting has happened in Vale. The White Fang and Roman Torchwick haven't done anything and his team hasn't arrived yet. Blake asks why he didn't come with them, and he says he wasn't into going back to school. Achilles walks up and greets Blake, and she introduces the two. Sun gets jealous when he notices Blake and Achilles seem close, but the connection gets lost and the video feed cuts out. Achilles comments she should just text Sun next time, then says they should get lunch and the cafeteria is serving noodles today.

As they walk, Blake says she likes Chiron's class and he has been training her to fight without her weapon and Semblance. Achilles says Chiron did the same for him. They arrive and find a girl with pink hair, a blue, sleeveless gi, and black cloth on her arms and legs is sitting at a table with a huge pile of empty bowls, and she is still eating. Achilles groans and says he was hoping they would arrive before she did. He introduces her as Miyamoto Musashi. When Musashi hears Blake is from Vale, she becomes excited and asks about Vale's noodle shop. After Blake describes it, Musashi says she would like to eat there someday, then starts eating again. Achilles asks how she can eat so much, and she says she worked up an appetite training with Li Shuwen and Suzuka. Blake asks who Suzuka is, and Achilles says they should avoid her because she is crazy.

Musashi points out Suzuka is sitting near them. She is a Faunus with fox ears and a tail, wearing a white top and red skirt, carrying a blue bag and a sword. Suzuka says she heard what Achilles said and threatens to kill him, pointing out she actually can, before saying, "JK!" She explains to Blake it means "Just Kidding!" Then she suddenly confronts Blake and orders her to back off from the boys she has her eye on. Blake is horrified when Suzuka accuses her of using her cuteness to string boys along. Just when it looks like Suzuka is about to attack her, she says, "JK!" again. She says Blake can have Achilles if she wants and walks away. Blake is left in shock and Achilles and Musashi comment Suzuka can be a handful.

At Jack the Ripper's place, Jack and Nursery Rhyme thank Mercury for the meal. He tells them to get to class while he cleans up. After the girls leave, Emerald shows up and asks what he thinks he's doing, saying it's suspicious that he's hanging out with two little girls. He groans that he is not a pedophile and explains that he volunteered to look after them when they found out their mother died. She points out that is not like him, and he says as long as he looks after them, he gets to sleep there, in a bed of his own, instead of that closet Gilgamesh made him stay in. She notices a fourth plate, and he says Atalanta is helping care for the girls as well. She is surprised when he says he cooked the food, and he points out he had to learn to cook to survive under his abusive father. She asks what Atalanta is like, and he says she is nice to him and cute.

Mercury asks how it is between Emerald and Robin. She says she hasn't seen him lately because she was hanging out with Nora and her friends. She found out Nora is an orphan, just like her, except Nora was eventually taken in by Ren while Emerald was on the streets for longer until she met Cinder. She says she is loyal to Cinder and wants her plan to succeed, but she has gotten attached, just like he warned her about. He admits he got attached too, but says they might as well enjoy it while they can, as neither of them had a chance at a normal life. She wishes him luck and leaves.

Yang, Mordred, and Gilgamesh walk together. Gil says he called Weiss and she confirmed Yang will like this next class. Yang asks why Weiss would think she would like an economics class, but Mordred says it isn't really one. They enter a room and Yang is ecstatic to find it is a workshop filled with cars and motorcycles. The teacher is Sakata Kintoki, a blond man in a leather biker outfit and shades. He says the only thing he really cares about when it comes to economics is that "Gold is Good". Gilgamesh gave him the idea to turn the class into an autoshop.

Gil shows off the motorcycle he made, Gilgil Machine. Yang is impressed and says her motorcycle is called Bumblebee, but she didn't bring it with her. Kintoki points out she can make another one here. Yang starts on it and asks Gil if he wants to help, and he agrees. Mordred gets confused by seeing the two of them looking at each other with affection. She notices Nobunaga working on a car and asks what she is doing here. Nobunaga says this class is easy and she doesn't mind getting her hands dirty. She came alone because Medusa went on a mission and Okita is helping Penthesilea find her contact lenses. Mordred asks why Yang and Gilgamesh are looking at each other like that. Nobunaga pulls her away and says to give them alone time, and she can't believe Arturia never taught Mordred about matters of the heart. She asks Mordred to help her with the car. Yang and Gil share a laugh, which confuses Mordred even more.
