Go To

Jaune and Pyrrha wait near the eastern entrance for Jeanne, Mash, and their teacher. Pyrrha curious what kind of weapons the two use. Jaune doesn't know, and she asks how does he not know what weapon his sister uses. He says that topic doesn't come up during their web chats, where they just talk about mundane things. She suddenly realizes something and asks if Jeanne knows he forged papers to get into Beacon Academy. He says she doesn't and begs her not to tell her. She agrees not to, and says he got into Chaldea Academy fair and square, which he should be proud of.

Mash and Jeanne arrive. Mash wears revealing armor and carries a massive, cross-shaped shield. Jeanne wears an armored dress and carries a sword and a rolled up flag. Jaune comments on them taking so long to get ready and asks if combat outfits can be turned into Noble Phantasms. Mash confirms they can, but their regular combat outfits had to be laundered, so they had to get replacements. Pyrrha questions Jeanne's flag and she assures her it is an effective weapon. Pyrrha and Mash compliment each other's shields, then Pyrrha and Jeanne compliment each other's head gear and the fact neither of them have pierced ears. Jeanne tells her that one time, Jaune tried to pierce his ear, but it got infected. Jaune complains that she had promised not to tell anyone.

Jeanne says this class has two teachers. Mash quickly adds that one of them changed from a Saber to a Berserker and lost the ability to speak. The teachers arrive. One wears white floral patterned armor with no helmet, while the other is completely covered in black armor and his visor is red. Jaune recognizes the white knight as Gawain, and becomes excited, saying he is his biggest fan and reading about him inspired him to become a Huntsman. Gawain says he read Jaune's profile and he is a failure, but that is not a bad thing, as this means he is not arrogant and he has experience with mistakes, meaning he can improve. Mash walks up to the black knight and smiles at him, but he just stares at her. Jeanne explains that the knight is Mash's father, Lancelot. Roughly a year ago, Mash's mother went missing and Lancelot was devastated. He turned into a Berserker to escape the pain. But though he cannot speak and seems mindless most of the time, he still loves his daughter. Mash and Lancelot hold hands. Gawain says they will go to the stables first and then to their mission.

Weiss waits in the courtyard for Marie to come back. Rose petals start falling, so she assumes Ruby is behind her, but it turns out to be Nero. Nero demands to know where to find someone named Ruby. Weiss asks if she is talking about Ruby Rose, and Nero gets even angrier upon finding out she has Rose for a last name. She says she wants Ruby to get rid of her ability to create rose petals, as that is an ability only she can have. Incredulous, Weiss says she doesn't see how it is possible to get rid of an ability, and besides, all it does is create a big mess. She then says that while Ruby is immature, she is her friend and she will not tolerate Nero disrespecting her. The two introduce themselves, and are impressed, as the Schnee and Claudius families are both very rich and influential.

Gilgamesh walks up and says he just got his ass kicked by Bazett, so he would like to forget that ever happened. He says he would have liked to meet Ruby, so Weiss tells him Astolfo took her into town, finally telling Nero where she is. Weiss comments she overheard Ruby excitedly talk about his Gate of Babylon. He says his collection of treasures is not for everyone to see, and Ruby would have better luck asking Archer to show his copies. He asks if they would like to have wine with him, and uses Gate of Babylon to summon a golden goblet of wine for each of them. Weiss sniffs it and says it is a Merlot, impressing him. She then sips it and says it is ten years old, perfect, though she prefers white wine. Very impressed, he summons a goblet of white wine for her and calls her Queen of White. Weiss says that has a nice ring to it, a lot better than her usual nickname. Nero correctly guesses it is Ice Queen, annoying her.

Nearby, Marie Antoinette watches with two of her teammates. One has white disheveled hair in a trench coat named Charles-Henri Sanson and the other is effeminate with blue and teal clothes, a frilly hat, and a white cape shaped like a lily named Chevalier d'Eon. As Weiss chats with Nero and Gilgamesh, Sanson can't believe it is possible she befriended them as he heard the Schnees were stuck up jerks. Marie gets upset and scolds him, saying you should judge people by their character, not their family. He apologizes to "Milady". Marie says she was planning to introduce the two to Weiss, but since she is busy they can do it some other time. They go to get lunch.
