Recap / Fates Collide Ch 15 Announcing Themselves

Go To

At the beach, Emerald feels sick from eating the fish. Jekyll offers her a vial of bismuth subsalicylate to ease her stomach. He points to Nora and Frankenstein making a 15 foot tall sand castle and says he is happy that Fran made a new friend. He then says that even though they just met, he thinks he's in love with Neo. The problem is that he isn't sure if she loves him, or Mr. Hyde, and asks if Emerald could ask her. She tells him to man up and ask her himself. Angered, he turns into Mr. Hyde and threatens her with his knife. Scared, she says she will ask Neo. He turns back into Jekyll and thanks her.

Nora tells Fran that since they have a castle, they are now queens and they get to lord over others. In her grunting language, Fran apparently curses, causing Nora and Jekyll, who can understand her, to be shocked. Nora says queens are supposed to be elegant. She confides that before her mother passed away, she promised that Nora would one day be a queen and be happy. The two then chant, "We're Queens of the castle!" and laugh.

Drake and the others come back from scouting the rest of the beach. Nora gets jealous when she sees Kiyohime linking arms with Ren. Drake says they are heading out to sea. To the exchange students' amazement, she summons a truly massive sailing ship that drops into the water. She then summons three rowboats to take them to the ship. Drake, Ren, and Jekyll take one, and she makes them row. Emerald, Neo, and Robin take one. Being a gentleman, he offers to row, which makes Emerald giggle, while Neo does a double take when she finally sees him clearly and notices he looks like her usual partner Roman Torchwick. Nora, Fran, and Kiyohime take the last one. Kiyohime refuses to row, and taunts Nora about how she had gotten closer to Ren in a day than Nora ever got in years. The other two row, but splash water in Kiyohime's face. When they get on the ship, Drake puts on a fancy hat and takes the wheel, as they set sail.

Mercury wakes up back in the infirmary's bed and wonders how he got there. The school nurse and medical teacher, Caren Hortensia, says that she found him in the bathroom. He threw up so much that he passed out. She offers him a tray of food, but he gets annoyed when he realizes she ate the ice cream while waiting for him to wake up. She asks how he originally lost his legs, and he claims he was in a car accident. She seems skeptical, but leaves.

A man in black with a purple coat and a cross walks in and introduces himself as Kirei Kotomine. He says he knows Mercury is the son of the assassin Marcus Black and would like to know what happened to him, as Marcus disappeared a few years ago. Upset, Mercury says he is dead. Kirei says he is sorry for his loss, but Mercury says he was an asshole and he is glad he is gone. Kirei asks how he died, but he refuses to answer. Kirei says if he ever wants to talk, the Church is always open.

Kirei walks out and sees a man in a black trench coat, Kiritsugu Emiya. He asks how his mission went, but Kiritsugu glares at him. He says he was supposed to be the one to question Cinder and Mercury, but Kirei and his apprentice went over his head and did it themselves. Kirei says it worked out in the end. They discuss how they are well aware that Cinder, Emerald, Mercury, and Neo are really criminals who are pretending to be students. Kiritsugu wants to arrest them right away, but Kirei says they are no threat to Apocrypha. Kiritsugu argues that if they are allowed to leave after getting stronger and learning new techniques from the classes, they will become threats to the other kingdoms and people will die. Kirei says the other kingdoms never helped Apocrypha, so he doesn't care what happens to them.

Zhuge Liang walks up and asks how Kiritsugu's mission went. He shows on his scroll pictures of several humanoid Grimm. These kinds seem to be more intelligent than the regular kind and can use weapons. He did not engage them, but he counted over fifty variations. Zhuge says to keep quiet about it to not start a panic until he and his advisors decide what to do. Zhuge then says as far as he is concerned, the four students have done nothing wrong in Apocrypha and are behaving themselves, so they will only arrest them if they actually do something bad. Kirei comments that he heard Kiritsugu's son is getting close to Cinder and asks how he feels about that. Kiritsugu walks away instead of answering. Zhuge asks Kirei why he keeps antagonizing him. Kirei responds, "Oh, it's a game we like to play. If he kills me, I win."
