Recap / Fates Collide Ch 12 Team Extella

Go To

Glynda wanders the halls and looks over her scroll. So far, none of the Beacon Academy students have gotten in trouble. She sees a list of four students called Team Extella who will be in her future class, which says they usually meet at the northern entrance to go to town. She decides to introduce herself.

As she walks to the northern entrance, she meets a golem and resolves to find out how they were made and how they work, so the other kingdoms can benefit from them. She meets Team Extella, who are bickering on what clothes to buy. She introduces herself, but they insult her for being from another kingdom. They claim that other kingdoms like Vale have become soft because they are protected from Grimm by their mountain ranges, while Apocrypha is an open plain, forcing them to remain sharp. Glynda becomes slightly annoyed and asks them to introduce themselves.

The first is a blonde in a revealing red dress, Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, the Empress of Roses. Rose petals fall from her body as she boasts she is the most beautiful woman in Remnant. The second is a Faunus with pink hair and fox ears and a fox tail in a kimono, Tamamo no Mae, who also claims to be the most beautiful woman in Remnant. The third is a Faunus with dragon horns and a dragon tail in a frilly black and white dress, Elizabeth Bathory. Stars and hearts made of light come off her body as she calls herself an idol. The fourth has dark skin, white hair, and wears a white veil and a white outfit that looks like a skimpy bathing suit, Attila, the King of Combat. She says to call her Altera instead and boasts, "I am the one who will destroy every Grimm on the face of the planet."

Glynda asks which of them is the leader. Nero, Tamamo, and Elizabeth all bicker on who is the leader, while Altera doesn't care. Glynda says when her class starts, they will work on teamwork. Tamamo asks why they should listen to her, and Glynda summons her riding crop and smacks her in the head. She says she may not be as strong as Chaldea Academy's other professors, but she is still a teacher and they had better not be late before walking away.

The four girls discuss that maybe they should get to know the exchange students. Elizabeth says she heard one of them, Ruby, also has the ability to create rose petals. Nero is furious and says that skill should only belong to her, then rushes away to find Ruby. The other three are dumbfounded that she got worked up over something so petty and call her an idiot, then leave to go shopping.

Yang and Mordred go down to the school's catacombs and meet a man in a biker outfit and shades, Professor Kairi Sisigou. He teaches necromancy and also adopted Mordred after her father went missing. He explains that the corpses in this room came from those who fell in battle, who prove useful even in death. Yang asks if he can bring the dead back to life, but he says that is impossible. What necromancy does is draw power from the dead. To give an example, he has Yang replace her bullets with bullets made from human fingers, then releases a Creeper Grimm into the room. Yang fires, and the bullets turn in midair and chase the monster down until they hit and kill it. Yang says that is so cool and she would like a few more "pointers". Mordred groans at the pun.
