Euden, Zethia, and Notte begin their journey in the windwyrm's wood with the intent on forming a pact with the dragon, Midgardsormr. As they start, however, they get attacked by a mysterious masked girl. Overpowered by the masked girl, Euden hears the dragon he seeked out and is offered a pact. upon forming the pact, Euden shapeshifts into the very dragon he formed a pact with.

Upon seeing that Euden managed to form a pact, the masked girl attempts to retreat. As she does, her mask slips off, revealing her face to resemble that of Zethia, confusing the trio. As she escapes, Euden gets informed by Midgardsormr that their pact is only a temporary one and that Euden needs to seek him out for a more official pact.
