Gideon: Roman philosopher Lucretius said, "What is food to one, is to others bitter poison."
A pharmaceutical company lays off a chemical engineer and steals his patent. He retaliates by dosing free candy with LSD, and envelope glue strips with botulinum toxin.
This episode provides examples of:
- Offing the Offspring: Subverted. It looks like the man at the beginning of the episode does this, and the BAU at first suspects him of trying to do this, but he thought he was fighting a monster because he was on LSD.
- Ripped from the Headlines: Based on the Tylenol Killer case.
- Through the Eyes of Madness: The victims' hallucinations after being poisoned, which are shown from their POV.
- You Got Murder: In a twist, the UnSub tries to kill his former bosses by poisoning the glue strips of envelopes they are using.
Gideon: Confucius warned us, "Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves."
