Go To

Opening Scene

After a brief dream sequence set in Corner Gas, Hank wakes up at the airport. He's been tasked with picking up Tina Fuller, a judge for a "Quaintest Town in Canada" contest from the National Star, and had a nap while waiting for her to arrive. When he takes her to Dog River, they see that the town is in the middle of a riot, and Hank explains how it all happened...

A Plot

The town is in dire straits, due to Fitzy investing in Detroit real estate before the state declared bankruptcy. Brent enters Dog River in the "Quaintest Town in Canada" contest, hoping that the prize money will be enough to save the town, as well as prevent Lacey from having to move if The Ruby gets shut down. He also buys the local bar with the intent of fixing it up. Meanwhile, Emma realizes she'd like grandchildren, and tries to set Brent and Lacey up together, but they're too busy trying to save the town to spend time together.

B Plot

Hank wants to help by getting a "Coff-Nuts" food franchise in Dog River, but since it would compete for business with The Ruby, this causes a falling-out between him and Brent. But it turns out that Jerome, the Coff-Nuts representative he invited, is hoping to take advantage of the town's bankruptcy to buy all the property (through a "CN Holdings" subsidiary) and build a regional distribution center in its place. Hank tries to fix things by sending Jerome to Wullerton, but their incredible pleasantry drives him back to Dog River. Jerome does reveal his plans to Dog River, but injures himself at Brent's bar, and decides to file a lawsuit that ends with Corner Gas confiscated and the bar to be condemned.

C Plot

Because of a box he checked on his contract, Davis is forced to resign from police service after his 25th year. He decides to become a private detective and solve mysteries. Meanwhile, Wanda's been left in charge of Davis's house, which is the only place in town still with power because of its backup diesel generators. She turns the place into a bar and casino that Davis ends up investigating.

D Plot

Karen, now married and pregnant, decides to issue more parking tickets in case the town can't recover and she needs a better record to work in another police department. Oscar decides to trade his car for a horse, which leads to conflict between the two.

The Conclusion

The town fails to win the "Quaintest Town in Canada" contest, but Tina sympathizes with their predicament and writes an article to garner support for the town, which causes Coff-Nuts to cancel the lawsuit due to media attention. Dog River is still saved, due to a combination of Wanda's casino, Karen's tickets, and a donation from Wullerton. Catastrophe averted, Brent and Lacey kiss, since they've actually been together for years without anyone noticing...though Brent doesn't want children, as they'll want him to share his comic books.
