Hikari is formally introduced to the Brave Witches, but finds herself on the outs with many of the other witches. To make things worse, her lack of magical ability and poor performances in training puts her in danger of washing out of the unit and being sent back to Fuso. When Nippa crashes due to equipment failure on a scouting mission, Rall agrees to allow Hikari to go pick her up so she'll have a good memory to go out on before she gets shipped back home.

- Slow and Steady Wins the Race: Nippa and Kanno have an unofficial race with Hikari while training. They initially blow right past her, but Hikari wins due to her superior stamina and the other two can't continue.
- The Swarm: Nippa gets swarmed by locusts off-screen which causes her Striker Unit to short out. Another lone locust appears in front of Hikari at the end on approach to base, causing her, Nippa, and Kanno to crash into the Baltic Sea.
