    Order and Chaos

  • Arc 1: The New Prince (chapters 1-11)
    • In the Shivering Isles, Sheogorath, Daedric Prince of Madness, is faced with a sudden dilemma: he's bored. When he wishes for someone who could match him and would play with him when the rules could be changed, he suddenly finds an infant Discord biting his finger. Intrigued and entertained by the newcomer, Sheogorath is even happier when Discord calls him "Dada", deciding to take him as his son and heir. While things don't go as easy as he expected (in part because Discord is just as capable of manipulating the Isles as he is, and equally stubborn), he is still happy.
    • Over time, Discord begins wandering, and finds doors leading to the realms of the other Daedric Princes. Entering one, he finds himself in the realm of Malacath, prince of the spurned and ostracized, who finds him and is impressed by him. Malacath later returns Discord to his father, and informs Sheogorath that Discord is welcome to visit him at any time.
    • Sheogorath accompanies him on his next visit, learning of the doors he used. The next one to drop in is Sanguine, Prince of Debauchery, who forbids them from entering until Discord is an adult (or until he can explain the concept in a complete sentence without using child talk or getting flustered), but they do get to have some fun by pranking Mephala, Daedric Prince of Obfuscation and Secrecy.
    • Discord next meets Azura (Daedric Prince of Dusk and Dawn), Meridia (Daedric Prince of Life and the Lady of Infinite Energies), and Nocturnal (Daedric Prince of the Night). The three are entertained by him, though Meridia does try to enforce at least a little discipline... even after Sheogorath comes running in and dives into a nearby wine lake.
    • The next to meet Discord is Hircine (Daedric Prince of the Hunt), who encounters him while wandering the Borderlands forest, the region where the Shivering Isles interact with other realms. Hunting a particular creature one day, he is stopped by Sheogorath, who explains his target is Sheogorath's own son, and that while Discord is enjoying the Hunt Game, Sheogorath will react... poorly... if Hircine actually harms Discord. Hircine responds by morphing his standard arrow into a boxing glove one. And then Discord decides to turn the tables and hunt them both, much to Sheogorath's amusement and Hircine's terror.
    • Discord continues his exploring, and finds his way into the realm of Mundus, the human world, where Clavicus Vile, Daedric Prince of Wishes, is also spending a day. Clavicus Vile is initially annoyed by this newcomer invading on his day and doing his game, until he sees what one of Discord's wishes has accomplished, and then is impressed with him.
    • Some time later, Discord's birthday party is held (it's really since he's started using complete sentences), and all eight Princes who've met Discord before are in attendance. Each brings a gift, many of which will play an important role in the future. Clavicus' is to grant a wish, giving him what he truly wants. What Discord wants: for his daddy to always be his daddy. Clavicus isn't sure he can grant it, when he suddenly gets an idea. Withdrawing his power from the Curse of Madness, he sets his plan in motion.
    • Discord's next encounter is with Peryite, the Daedric Prince of Pestilence, who's somewhat annoyed that Discord is completely immune to his plagues. (It helps that Discord isn't biological, but materialized magic.) However, the two have gotten to be friends, and are working on something together. In the process, Discord reveals that he's also met the other six Princes, but isn't on the best terms with them:
      • Boethiah (Daedric Prince of Deceit), who is either lying or not. Discord can never be sure as to which he's doing.
      • Vaermina (Daedric Prince of Dreams and Nightmares), who's just plain terrified of him.
      • Namira (Daedric Prince of the "ancient darkness" and all things repulsive), who hates him because Meridia (whom she doesn't get along with) likes him.
      • Mehrunes Dagon (Daedric Prince of Destruction) doesn't like that he can warp Mundus so easily.
      • Hermaeus Mora (Daedric Prince of Knowledge and Memory) is angered that Discord randomized his library and stole his card catalogue.
      • Molag Bal (Daedric Prince of Domination and spiritual enslavement) made a bet for Discord's soul against all the souls in his realm, Discord having to come up with a torment that could break the worst of the worst in Molag Bal's realm. Discord won, which is why Molag Bal isn't happy with him.
    • Discord then demonstrates his project... which is basically Poison Joak. It turns Sheogorath into an angry version of Shego. note
    • As Discord grows (and begins having nightmares of a mysterious gray man in metal and the sense of echoing loneliness and deadness within the man), Sheogorath sends him on various quests throughout the Isles and beyond. During this time, he finds himself drawn more to Dementia, the darker region of the Shivering Isles.
    • One of Discord's quests leads him to a man named Wulf, who advises Discord that if he is daring, willing to risk all for that which is most important to him, and will stay determined, there is another solution. Wulf then gives him his lucky coin and a final bit of advice before vanishing away to have a talk with someone named Vivec (who is actually the "transcendent evolution" of Mephala).
    • More time has passed, and Discord has grown more. Finally able to understand Debauchery (it is, to him, what the Dark Seducers have been driving the Golden Saints crazy with ever since he altered their armor), Sanguine allows him to enter his Realm, and they get a little philosophical. The pair are suddenly joined by Vaermina, who explains why she was so terrified of him before and why she isn't now: her visions foresaw Discord being able to alter anything, even the Princes, on whim and thought. But now that she knows his motivations (that he cares, rather than just using his power for amusement), she wants her visions of this to come true, and decides to entertain him in her own... special way. Amused, Sanguine leaves them to their fun.
  • Arc 2: The Greymarch (chapters 12-16)
    • The time has come. Three years early, the Greymarch has progressed to the point where Sheogorath will revert to Jyggalag, and knowing that his transformation will leave the new Sheogorath without the emotional bond of his memories with Discord, is left with no choice but to banish him, hoping to spare Discord the pain of knowing his father's fate.
    • Once he's unable to sense Sheogorath's presence anymore, Discord's reaction is one of pure rage: he realizes the gray man from his nightmares has come, and intends to make him pay for taking Sheogorath away. Speaking with Haskill (Sheogorath's chamberlain), Discord learns that Sheogorath had actually banished him because he knew he was no match for Jyggalag. The only way he can match the Daedric Prince of Order is to claim the throne of Madness, letting him meet Jyggalag on even footing and being somewhat protected from his power. To do that, he needs to restore the Staff of Sheogorath.
    • On Haskill's advice, Discord speaks with Dyus and learns how to restore the Staff. However, he does it his own way, and creates a new staff, uniquely his: Mad Psijic, letting him claim the land.
    • As Jyggalag and his army approach the castle, they find Discord awaiting, and quickly learn he's taken over. Discord manages to easily overwhelm him, until he removes Jyggalag's helmet and finds the face of Sheogorath. When he demands an explanation, Jyggalag explains the Curse of Madness that the others put on him and how it works. He also explains how the curse has been weakened and how he sought to end himself rather than force Discord to see a new Sheogorath who didn't know him. Discord's response is to fix things... with his powers, he is able to shift the universe ever so slightly. And so it changes.
    • When reality returns, a new being stands... and realizes that, through through a Psijic Endeavor, Discord has remade the two Daedric Princes. By his efforts, Jyggalag’s mind (with logical thoughts and clear thinking) and Sheogorath’s heart (with its love of joy and belief in hope) are combined into Jyggorath, the new Prince of Order, who still has Sheogorath's love for Discord. The other main portions (Sheogorath's mad mind and Jyggalag's still heart) combine into Maud Pie, who is not a Daedric Prince and is subsequently retconned into Equestrian history.
    • A series of portals then appear, and the other fifteen Princes emerge. Hermaeus Mora promptly acts, trying to attack Discord, only for Jyggorath to intercept him. Despite Hermaeus' claim that Discord's very presence is a disaster and he must be removed, Jyggorath won't stand for it, declaring that he won't allow anyone to harm his son. One by one, thirteen of the other Princes join him, only Boethiah remaining neutral. And that's when Discord himself steps in, telling Jyggorath that he's got this.
    • Discord has changed form somewhat, now appearing older, and promptly declares himself both the new Daedric Prince of Madness, and also their King, who will unite and guide the others like never before, something Jyggorath admits he was actually trying to do when the others cursed him.
    • Furthermore, Discord now declares the beginning of the King Games, in which any of the others may challenge him for the crown (but he picks the games). Last one with the Crown at the end of the Era takes all. The purpose, of course, is to end the conflict between all the Princes and change the face of Aurbis. Once the others all agree, Discord sends the majority of them back to their realms. He then has to deal with Jyggorath being mad at him for risking himself with the Psijic Maneuver, but reminds him that there's no fun in being Mad if he doesn't take insane risks once in a while, something he learned from Sheogorath. And it doesn't help that the others have no idea what kind of games he has in store for them.
  • Arc 3: The King Games (chapters 17-19)
    • Discord's first challenger is Hermaeus Mora, and Discord's chosen game is Double Cranko, which is so utterly confusing that Hermaeus can't make heads or tails of it, and surrenders.
    • Mehrunus Dagon is next, and the game is Materialization Shiritori, which Discord wins. Mephala is third, and loses when her attempt to seduce him fails miserably. Molag Bal comes fourth and loses in Risk, and in something called Torment. Namira is fifth and again loses.
    • With all but one of the remaining Daedric Princes on his side already (and swearing fealty without going through challenges), the match with Boethiah is a winner-take-all round of Ogres & Oubliettes, and Discord wins handily, having proven that anything the others can do, he can do better. And so the Daedric King is officially crowned, the other sixteen all now bound to him.
  • Arc 4: The World Changes (chapters 20-34)
    • Time passes, and the united Daedra await the Oblivion Crisis that would mark the end of the current Era. However, the predicted events don't happen... and they discover that decades before, the day he met Clavicus Vile, Discord had granted a wish that prevented Mankar from growing up into the type of being who would found the Mythic Dawn cult and set off the Crisis. The other Daedra are disappointed, but cheer up when Discord reveals that something else is coming: ever since he achieved Chim, he's felt something trying to draw him elsewhere. And now is his chance to follow that something... which is leading him back to his original world.
    • Returning to Equestria, Discord investigates the land and its people. Finally, floating invisibly in Canterlot Castle, he regains his memories of his past life. And when he sees the Cutie Mark Crusaders arguing in front of his own petrified form, he takes action, preparing for his grand return. As the Element-bearers deal with matters in Ponyville he analyzes each of them. When they arrive in Canterlot to get the Elements, he reveals himself, then summons Luna and Spike to join them, revealing he's set up special challenges for each of them: portals leading to the realms of nine of the Daedric Princes. If each of them can face his allies and gain the artifacts he's hidden there (including three extras besides the Elements), they'll be transported to his realm, and have a chance at stopping him. The nine decide to go for it, and so enter their portals... which will pit Mehrunes Dagon against Rainbow Dash, Boethiah against Applejack, Hircine against Rarity, Sanguine against Pinkie Pie, Jyggorath against Fluttershy, Hermaeus Mora against Twilight, Malacath against Spike, Vaermina against Luna and Meridia against Celestia. And so, the game begins.
    • In the first round, Twilight finds herself in Hermaeus Mora's library, and is very excited at the amount of books in there. While he's initially impressed and starts to agree with some of her points, he gets mad when he finds out Discord sent her to retrieve his card catalog, which would let her access all the properly sorted knowledge in his realm, which he doesn't want to share. Twilight gets even more angry when she hears that, and challenges him for his Realm. She succeeds, becoming head of Apocrypha, with Mora now demoted to number four (under Spike and Owlowiscious). While he's raging, Twilight is transported to the Shivering Isles.
    • The next match pits Luna against Vaermina, and the two manage to talk things out, with Vaermina helping Luna deal with her ongoing sense of guilt over Nightmare Moon, and revealing that she herself is pregnant with Discord's child. Afterward, Vaermina creates a nightmare dreamscape that Luna can enjoy herself in, dealing with its denizens to collect the Skull of Corruption.
    • Celestia, meanwhile, enters Meridia's realm, with the challenge this time being to see which of them is best against a hoard of undead. Then Meridia sits back and watches as Celestia battles the hoards, including a gigantic Draugr Deathlord. Namira, who'd created all those undead, is not amused, but joins her in watching anyway.
    • The fourth match pits Spike against Malacath, traversing the area. During his travels, he acquires a large warhammer from one of the specters, and with sheer determination, continues on. Finally, he confronts Malacath, who is very impressed by him, despite what Spike himself thinks, feeling himself an outcast among both ponies and dragons. He also points out that over the course of his journey, Spike has undergone much growth, and Malacath sees him as a protector and leader. Informing him of the warhammer's name - Voldendrung, the weapon of the leader of the Rourken clan of the Dwemer - Malacath shows him that it will guide him to the Shivering Isles. And so, Spike heads onward.
    • Round five sees Pinkie entering an undefined Pleasure Pocket, where Sanguine is waiting for her. Between a musical duel, the pair bonding over shared interests, and her managing to seduce him, romance begins, and he gives her the Sanguine Rose, the item she needs from him.
    • in round six, Rainbow Dash finds herself in the realm of Mehrunes Dagon, who tries to trick Rainbow Dash, giving her a choice of the artifact she's after... or Scootaloo, threatening to destroy whichever one she doesn't go after. Rainbow Dash, angered by this, manages to seize the artifact - Mehrunus' Razor - and, believing she's lost Scootaloo, uses the item against him, killing him as his own dagger claims his soul. Mourning her loss, she suddenly hears Scootaloo's voice coming from the portal to Discord's realm. Realizing the little filly is alive, she flies through the portal to the Shivering Isles. At the same time, she also hears some startling information from Discord: he's stacked the deck in favor of the challengers.
    • Meanwhile, Applejack passes into her own trial, where she finds a wide variety of beings, and learns she must figure out which is the real Boethiah. Questioning her guide, she soon figures out Boethiah's identity and earns her artifact, a golden katana known as the Goldbrand. The two part with mutual respect, and Applejack heads through her portal.
    • Round eight sends Rarity into a thick jungle occupied by Hircine, and she spends the next while avoiding him and figuring out how to stop her hunter. Using her resources, she winds up skinning, de-clawing and de-fanging a leopard that Hircine shot when it went after her, and turning it into a disguise. With the rest of its body, she sets a trap for Hircine, and manages to catch him and seize his bow, which turns out to be the artifact she needed. Getting a few answers from him, she heads through the portal that has opened, transporting her to the Shivering Isles.
    • Finally, Fluttershy arrives in her target realm and meets Jyggorath, who shares a bit of his past, including how grateful he is to Discord for making him the Daedra he is today. In return for her giving him some pleasant company for tea, he hands over the greatsword that is the artifact she came for, and the two settle back to enjoy their tea, crackers and cheese... and Fluttershy's asking for some of the latter pleases Jyggorath to no end.
    • Meanwhile, back in the Shivering Isles, Discord has a friendly conversation with the three Crusaders, explaining the rules of his game. They're interrupted when he detects a sudden change (revealed to be the death of Mehrunes Dagon), and soon after, the others begin arriving, starting with Rainbow Dash, who is tearfully reunited with Scootaloo. The others arrive shortly after, with Fluttershy being the last. After a short discussion with Rarity over her leopard-skin outfit, Fluttershy accepts what she did. Discord then announces the game's second stage: they must figure out where their Elements are. And if they choose wrong, they lose. Discord leaves the group to their discussion, but they surprise him by deciding not to use the powers of the Elements against him, feeling he's served his sentence, and choosing to instead try to reason with him. This proves to be the correct answer, as their Elements return themselves to the six Bearers.
    • While the group is having their debate, Discord calls the other Daedric Princes to him. Boethiah figures out that Mehrunus Dagon is dead, and what must have happened to him, which Discord confirms. The others all accept what must have happened, and also figure out that Rainbow Dash should be the new Daedric Prince of Destruction... except, due to her currently being engaged in a territorial dispute with Discord, she can't quite take the mantle just yet. Their talk is interrupted when a sudden voice, the same one that sounded when the Elements returned to their Bearers, alerts them. Discord, uncertain as to what it means, heads back to the group with the rest of the Princes following.
    • When Discord and his group arrive, they are surprised to find that the Equestrians plan to negotiate, rather than fight. Together, they work out a set of ground rules for all future games (no permanent physical or emotional harm to players; always a chance to win; don't involve anyone who can't take it, though he can provide temporary restoration of past physical or mental capacities to handle the game if the other agrees; terms of games must be agreed upon before games are initiated, even if initiated at a later date; no one who isn't of their majority can be allowed to wager anything on the outcomes of these games; clean up afterwards; and free passage between Equestria and the Realms of Oblivion for those who desire it).
    • With terms agreed upon and the games concluded with total victory for all involved, there's now a handful of issues that arose during the games. During this round of discussion, it's agreed that Hermaeus Mora is still Daedric Prince of Knowledge, but Twilight is now in charge of his Realm. The other matter is that Rainbow Dash is now the Daedric Prince of Destruction, and an ageless immortal. These details agreed upon, the Equestrians now have to go home.
  • Arc 5: The Key to PWNY (chapter 35)
    • Time passes, and events generally happen as normal, though Discord does remember a few that were different, such as the wedding of Shining Armor and Cadance, and how the group broke out their weapons from the Oblivion realms to handle Chrysalis. He also recalls the Dragon Migration, when they discovered Spike's father was Alduin, a dragon from the Oblivion Realms and the Nordic God of Destruction. He also recalls the return of the Crystal Empire, and how Twilight became an Alicorn.
    • His thoughts are interrupted when he discovers Tirek is loose, and decides to send him away... which turns out to be a big mistake. Deciding to remedy this, Discord figures out a solution: shattering Equestria's timeline, creating separate timelines for each of the six and then weaving them back together to create the world Tirek will find when he returns. Plus some extra words. None of them will remember anything of this timeline until they meet him again in the fused world, one created from 22 separate timelines. And so he activates it.
    • After his work is done, Discord learns from Vaermina that he's now a father of two, due to a ripple effect from Akatosh dumping a lot of time into his Equestria project. Discord looks at his new children... and finds they're Celestia and Luna. He is rather surprised, but also happy.
    • The End and The Beginning...

    The Merc With the Moth
  • Arc 1: Early days (chapters 1-3)
    • One day, as he's lazing around in his apartment, there's a knock on Deadpool's door. Being the fourth-wall-aware being that he is, he instantly knows what's going on. After trying to take control of the story (only to find the author is railroading him into getting on with the plot), he answers the door and finds a box with a tiny Changeling Queen in it on his doorstep. Recognizing her (he's a brony) and taking Chrysalis in, he's told by his other two personalities (Stuffy and Crazy) that his healing factor lets her feed on his love with no affect on him, and is much amused by her antics, though he's also positive that he's going to screw up being a father. As he and the brain trust try to figure out who they can ask for help, Cable beams in from the future and asks for his help, only to find Deadpool asking him for parenting advice. Cable gives him some, then prepares to leave, explaining that he'd shown up because, unless he was distracted, Deadpool was about to go on a rampage and wipe out most of the planet's population. Fortunately, the arrival of Chrysalis has already prevented that disaster. Wishing Deadpool good luck, Cable departs.
    • Deadpool somehow manages to take to fatherhood, though he's less than pleased at having to clean up after himself. One day, when he needs to go out on a mission, he drops her off at the X-Mansion for the day. Unfortunately, Chrysalis is very much her father's daughter, and by the time he gets back, the mansion is a smoking ruin. (Also, though it's not revealed at the time, she's picked up some of Xavier's powers by biting chunks out of his psychic aura.) His next two babysitters, Squirrel Girl and Spiderman, both have problems too. Fortunately, the next go-round, they get someone who can take good care of her: Death, the love of Deadpool's life.
  • Arc 2: Deadpool and Wolverine (chapters 4-9)
    • One day, Cable shows up again and asks for Deadpool's help on an urgent mission. Leaving Logan/Wolverine in charge of things (much to his annoyance - he was supposed to go on the mission with them), the two head out to deal with a new breed of Sentinels being constructed by Bolivar Trask (creator of the Sentinels) and William Stryker (a member of Weapon X). Meanwhile, Chrysalis accidentally activates a mind-controlling effect on Wolverine and decides to have fun with this. Her idea of fun is to take him and attack Weapon X HQ, the same place Cable and Deadpool were heading for. Deadpool is annoyed that they beat him to it, returns home, and finds Chrysalis cannibalizing Trask while a mind-controlled Wolverine does a clog dance on Stryker's nuts. Deadpool is proud of her. Cable runs off to retch.
    • When time comes for Deadpool's next mission, Logan shows up at his door and thanks him for what Chrysalis did, letting him finally get even with Stryker for ruining his life and, unwittingly, for restoring all his lost memories from the times before. He volunteers to watch over Chrysalis while Deadpool is out, which Chrysalis is very happy with, nicknaming Wolverine "Uncle Fuzzy". During their playtime, Chrysalis discovers she can fly, and that she has the same regeneration powers as Deadpool. Later, after finishing his mission, Deadpool returns for a night of family bonding, and by the time it's done, he's decided Wolverine is his brother. Wolverine reluctantly agrees.
    • The next morning, Deadpool begins training Chrysalis. She proves she's already highly skilled, easily dodging high-speed obstacles (he throws her into traffic and she avoids the incoming cars and trucks), using magic to nudge aside incoming machine gun bullets, and catching a rocket from a rocket launcher with her teeth. And when he tries to get Wolverine to attack her, she's able to make him dismember Deadpool instead. Afterward, he teaches her how guns work.
    • After they're done for the day, Wolverine returns to the Institute to help out with the rebuilding, while Deadpool and Chrysalis play a drinking game with energy drinks while watching Pinkie and the Brain, and the next morning, Deadpool learns the hard way that Changelings can store sugar and stimulants and use them over time... and that it can be used to artificially boost magical output. When she hit her storage limit the night before, chaos resulted. After seeing the havoc she's wreaking, Deadpool decides to just sit back and record it all with a smile on his face.
  • Arc 3: A Rather Silly Interlude (chapter 10)
    • Deadpool and Chrysalis watch Monty Python. Then accidentally end up in the events of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. By the times it's done, Medieval England is in ruins. Then they go into another version, and finally home.
  • Arc 4: Celebrations (chapters 11-13)
    • Chrysalis discovers Father's Day and decides to get Deadpool something. In the process, she discovers she has her own versions of Crazy and Stuffy, whom the originals dub Cray-Chry and Stuffalis. By the time her very enthusiastic shopping trip is done, she's accidentally summoned the eldritch abomination Yog-Soggoth and trashed the city, and returns home with a fez (which was originally for her, but Deadpool loves it).
    • Soon after, Deadpool realizes Chrysalis' birthday is coming up, and goes out shopping. On the way out, he meets Wolverine (who's moved in with them after the eldritch abomination Chrysalis summoned on Father's Day trashed the Institute again, and already has a present for his niece). While out, he runs into said eldritch abomination, who's stuck around to give her a gift, which he hands to Deadpool before vanishing. He finally figures out a gift for her.
    • The big day finally arrives, and attendees include Wolverine, Lady Death, Cable and John De Lancie. After Chrysalis has passed out and the rest get drunk, Wolverine awakens the next day and finds himself caught in a tea party with Deadpool and Chrysalis. With the other two wearing fezzes, monocles and fake mustaches (Deadpool's birthday gifts to his daughter).
  • Arc 5: School Days (chapters 14-15)
    • Deadpool enrolls Chrysalis in public school. Chaos ensues.
  • Arc 6: Deadpool and Chrysalis: The Video Game (chapters 16-28)
    • High Moon Studios, after a meeting with Yog-Soggoth (acting as Chrysalis' agent), agrees to a remake of the 2013 Deadpool video game with Chrysalis added. Deadpool and Chrysalis reenact the events of the game, which will involve hunting down a villain together while random events keep getting in the way. Also, Mr. Sinister is set to show up. As the two pursue their target, they run into various members of the Marauders (Sinister's henchmen) and defeat them. After an encounter with Sinister himself (dubbed "Mr. Clone Face" by Chrysalis), they're joined by Wolverine, Psylocke, Domino and Rogue, the three women promptly fawning over Chrysalis. The six fly to the island of Genosha (with several unexpected detours along the way), where they meet up with Cable, then demolish their way through the various obstacles and encounter a clone of Clone-Face. Obliterating it, they learn where the real one is, and head that direction, dealing with various challenges in the process.
    • After wiping out another clone and rescuing Rogue from an enemy, Deadpool decides to heal her by having her absorb his healing factor. Unfortunately, this results in trouble: Crazy and Stuffy are pulled into Rogue's head, leaving just Deadpool and one other in his head: Red Box, Deadpool's murderous intent and desire to kill for the sake of killing. He tries to make Deadpool kill everyone, starting with Rogue and Chrysalis. Fortunately, Deadpool resists until Chrysalis is able to reach him, and sends Queen, the embodiment of Chrysalis' ambition and urge to conquer and enslave (and her own counterpart to Red Box), into her father's head. Queen gets everything she wants from the love and adoration that Chrysalis gets from her fans, and is able to stop Red Box for good.
    • Fully restored to his normal self (including Crazy and Stuffy), Deadpool finds himself and Chrysalis hanging from the ceiling of a cave. After dealing with various mooks, the two and five of their six alternate personalities (excluding Red Box) find themselves in another plane of existence, where Lady Death reminds them of what's happening: Clone-Face is trying to make mutant clones, which would be bad for the life-death balance, so they have to stop him. Reawakening, they tame a dragon (named Conny after Sean Connery) and encounter Cable, but leave him behind as they battle their way through more challenges. While riding Conny and Sparky-Sparky-Boom-Boom-Dino (the mecha T-rex that Chrysalis made her first day of school).
    • The quartet soon reach a gate sealed with three statues. Chrysalis triggers the challenge, Deadpool passes easily, and the four are teleported back to the surface, rejoining their teammates. Fighting their way to the main fortress of the citadel where Clone-Face is located, the group battle Clone-Face and his slaves. The fight takes a surprising turn for Clone-Face when the last of his clones are used up, and it turns out all the rest have been turned into one hundred Warrior Changelings - keeping a DNA sample preserved in Changeling magic resulted in cross contamination. The Warrior Changelings wipe out Clone-Face and the rest of his clones, and Deadpool enjoys the carnage.
  • Arc 7: All Grown Up (chapters 29-32)
    • Time passes without Deadpool noticing. Chrysalis is now sixteen, much to his shock. And there's also the part where Chrysalis wants to start having babies, in part due to having enough of Deadpool's essence inside her that, by giving birth, it'll create a mystical loophole that'll let Deadpool and Lady Death interact physically in the mortal realms. Deadpool decides that this is worth accepting that his little girl has grown up. After debating possible father candidates, they pull in Thirty-Thirty from the cartoon Bravestarr. It works, Deadpool and Lady Death are able to live together, and when Thanos (who is responsible for keeping the pair apart in the first place) finds out and attacks them, Chrysalis' newborn son Forty-Forty (or ShiShi for short) devours him. Lady Death is thrilled by this.
    • As the years go by, and Deadpool and Lady Death have three kids together (Grim from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Death from Discworld and Botan from Yu Yu Hakusho), Chrysalis begins to get homesick for Equestria. One day, while ShiShi is poking around, he finds the gift Yog-Soggoth left for Chrysalis way back in chapter 12, which turns out to contain a stable portal between Deadpool's apartment and Chrysalis' hive. The entire family heads through.
  • Arc 8: Epilogue (chapter 33)
    • Back in Equestria, strange things are happening. Discord has hidden himself in his private chaos dimension, Princess Luna has gone missing, and unusual Changeling activity has Princess Celestia worried. Suddenly, she gets a report that Changelings are marching through Canterlot to the palace. Chrysalis finally arrives and seizes the throne. Fortunately, Luna, who has been forced into serving them by Deadpool and Chrysalis' abilities to manipulate narrative causality, has a plan... one she's neither thought of nor discussed, preventing them from perceiving it before it's implemented. That plan: to use enough of her magic to manipulate his ability to break into other dimensions conditionally, allowing her to summon somepony who can match Chrysalis as she is now. That somepony: the Spartan Pinkie Pie from You Can't Spell Slaughter Without Laughter. She and Chrysalis fight, and they're still fighting an hour later, at which point Deadpool ends the story by calling for chimichangas for everyone, burying the entirety of Canterlot under a mountain of cherry-flavored chimichangas. And now everyone has to eat their way out.
    • The (odd) end.

There's Nopony I'd Rather Be Than Me
  • Arc 1: Early years (chapters 1-10)
    • Some time after the events of the film Wreck-It Ralph, Ralph is lazing about after another day at the arcade, reminiscing and wishing that he had someone who could come with him when he relaxed after games. His wish comes true when a horse face appears on the moon and then begins streaking toward him. The face turns out to be a tiny pony, who declares she is Nightmare Moon, will conquer Equestria, and that the night will last forever. She's a little disappointed when Ralph points out that it's always night where they are, and then tries to figure out what game she might have come from. After Ralph says he'll take her to a BadAnon meeting the next night to find out, she decides to stay with him, and as he goes to sleep, Ralph wonders who might have granted his wish.
    • The next day, Ralph explains what kind of world they're in, and Nightmare Moon watches as he goes through his daily routine in the game. After the arcade closes, Ralph introduces her to Felix, then takes her to the meeting. En route, it's revealed Ralph is now part of a special anti-virus squad that deals with any rogue viral programs that make it into the games, formed after the Cybug incident. Also en route, the Surge Protector (a program that helps handle security) tries to stop Nightmare Moon from passing through the checkpoints since she doesn't know what game she's from, but Dr. Albert Wily, villain of Mega Man 3 and head of the Anti-Virus squad, intervenes to let her through.
    • The pair finally make it to the meeting (being held in the Pac Man game), where several members are introduced, including finally Nightmare Moon (whom Ralph has begun calling Moony), who tells her story about not knowing where she comes from, just that she's supposed to plunge the land of Equestria into Eternal Night and rule it with an iron hoof. Ralph steps in to tell how he found her and to ask for help in figuring out where she might have come from. Afterward, the others unanimously decide Ralph should be her official father. Ralph is surprised, but agrees.
    • The next day, Ralph and Nightmare Moon attend a meeting of the Anti-Virus squad to test some of Wily's new equipment and greet new members, unaware that a cloaked figure is spying on them and takes an interest in Nightmare Moon. After the meeting, Ralph takes his daughter to Sugar Rush and introduces her to Vanellope, and while the two have a bad first encounter, they soon become friends, and Moony decides Vanellope is her mom. Once that's settled, Vanellope takes Moony to make her own racer, and the result is the Dream Eater, which proves extremely effective, allowing Moony to win the race. While they're on the track, Ralph discovers another kart that Vanellope made for him. Ralph is thrilled. Vanellope also shows them something Dr. Wily has rigged up: modifications to the game's code so they and their karts (including Ralph's, now identified as the Bull Dozer) can be recognized as racers in the game, and thus will be as safe in Sugar Rush as they would be in their own games. Afterward, as the two head for the track, Vanellope quietly speaks to Dr. Wily. It's revealed that they've found out, but are keeping it quiet, that Nightmare Moon isn't a traditional sprite, and could easily destroy the code of the entire arcade by accident.
    • While Wily goes off to analyze the data he's gotten, Vanellope, Ralph and Moony have a race together, Vanellope winning due to different rules and more experience. Moony is annoyed and goes off to sulk, but Ralph finds her and talks her down, pointing how this race was effectively stacked against her. Reassured, she goes back to the track with him.
    • Meanwhile, Wily continues studying the data, learning that while Nightmare Moon may be manifesting as a sprite, she originates from a non-data world, and will have two further growth stages, drastically altering her abilities with each stage.
    • Over the next few weeks, the family adapts. Wily has programmed "Easter Egg" code blocks into several games so Moony can play in them during the days. The arcade attendees quite enjoy the change-up, but figure out she's there as an advertisement for her own upcoming game. Stan Litwak, the arcade owner, doesn't try to tell them what he's found out, having guessed that the game sprites are more alive than anyone else knows. He's also working on his own game script for one that Nightmare Moon can appear in on her own, eventually. Of course, he has yet to figure out that Wily is secretly feeding him information to lead to some of the conclusions he's come to.
  • Arc 2: Return of an Old Foe (chapters 11-15)
    • One morning, as Moony heads for her game of the day, she's suddenly captured by a mysterious robed figure, and cries out for help. Ralph hears her, abandons a game in the middle of play, and to keep attendees from getting suspicious, Stan clears the arcade, giving the sprites time to handle things. Meanwhile, Nightmare Moon learns who's captured her and taken her into the Hero's Duty game: Turbo, Ralph's old enemy. Having survived his defeat due to still being plugged into the game code, but being banished from it when Vanellope won the game and triggered a reset, he's been plotting revenge on them ever since, and plans to let a Cybug absorb Nightmare Moon before he absorbs it himself and escapes into the internet.
    • While the other sprites head into the game and battle their way through the Cybugs, and finally reach the chamber where Moony is being held, they're almost too late: Turbo orders the Cybug to devour Nightmare Moon as Ralph watches... only for the young pony to absorb the bug herself and achieve her next stage. Now having taken control of the Cybugs, including Turbo, she condemns the bugs to remain in the game they're in now, while Turbo is trapped as the game's new final boss, unable to leave the chamber.
    • After the battle, Moony and Ralph reunite, and Moony explains how she took over the Cybugs. Afterward, the group has a big celebration, and when Litwak speaks to them to calm it down for the night, the sprites are startled until Wily confirms he's firmly on their side. The party breaks up, and Ralph and Moony return home for the night.
  • Arc 3: Aftermath (chapters 16-18)
    • Time passes. The arcade gets a new Soul Calibur game (with Moony being the first to greet the newcomers, and invite its villain - also named Nightmare - to BadAnon), and on December 21, the sprites celebrate Nightmare Moon's first full year in the arcade.
  • Arc 4: The Incursion (chapters 19-24)
    • One day, the arcade comes under an unexpected attack: a hacker, remotely accessing Stan Litwak's computer and breaking into the arcade games through it, has sent a worm into their systems. While Nightmare Moon and the rest of the Anti-Virus Squad respond, Stan cuts the power to his computer to try and stop the worm, mostly succeeding. Unfortunately, it's not in time to stop a bit of the worm from breaking off and invading Moony's code as she saves Tara Gum (Felix and Sergeant Calhoun's daughter) from it.
    • Shortly afterward, Wily contacts Stan directly and gives him instructions on how to help them. While the Anti-Virus Squad works, Clyde (from Pac Man) confirms what he's suspected all along, about the sprites being fully sentient. Stan tells them about the worm being sent by a hacker, which gives them a big idea as to how to save Moony. Stan does what he can to help, while the sprites prepare to enter the internet and go after the hacker's systems.
    • The team - Rush and Wily (from Mega Man 3), Ralph, Nightmare (of Soul Calibur) and Zero (from the Mega Man X series) head into the internet, and fight their way through several viruses. Finally, getting the last code fragment they need at the apparent cost of Zero's life, the four remaining enter the hacker's systems. When Ralph smashes his way in, the quartet confront the hacker, giving him flashbacks... and revealing it's none other than Sid Phillips from Toy Story. Terrifying him away from the computer, the group acquires the data they need to save Moony and return to the internet.
    • Heading back to the arcade, the team gets a surprise when Zero turns up alive and well, having assimilated the code from the virus that tried to take him out. Once back in, they're able to save Moony, using a combination of Wily's anti-virus and Felix's hammer, but also trigger her third stage. With both she and Zero fully recovered, everyone celebrates... but at the same time, Ralph knows his daughter is now at her full strength and will soon return to her original land.
  • Arc 5: End of an Era (chapters 25-27)
    • The sprites continue their lives, and thanks to Wily's coding, begin appearing in other games as unlockable easter eggs. A year after the hacking incident, Stan adds a new game, one where nearly all the sprites are playable in a tournament. But one day, on the eve of the summer solstice, Sugar Rush gets a surprise: the moon that Moony came from appears, and she realizes it's time to return home. Saying her goodbyes to everyone, she disappears, her face manifesting on every moon in the arcade.
    • Interlude: Some time later, having become an employee of ENCOM, Sid Phillips allows himself to be virtualized and travels the internet, accompanied by Tron. Entering the arcade's world, he is met by all the sprites, and apologizes for what he did to them. The sprites forgive him, and he leaves.
  • Arc 6: Nightmare in Equestria (chapters 28-34)
    • Arriving in Equestria, Nightmare Moon confronts Celestia. Confused by being referred to as Luna, she expects Celestia to attack her. When Celestia refuses, Nightmare Moon decides Celestia isn't a hero, she's the hostage, and traps her in a cage, then goes off to confront "the heroes" in Ponyville, leaving Celestia very confused.
    • Appearing in Ponyville, Moony announces herself, figures out which of the ponies are meant to be the real heroes, then spies on them and figures out what they need to do. Still thinking she's in a game, she sets up various hurdles for the six to get past. When they finally get through the forest and find the Elements in the castle, Nightmare Moon is waiting for them, having decided to extend the quest so the group can become more skilled and become more of a challenge for her. Enacting a spell, she scatters the Elements to different parts of Equestria, where they create guardian characters from the area around them, whom the heroes will have to test themselves in battle against. Leaving the six to hunt down the Elements and level up enough to be a decent challenge, Nightmare Moon returns to Canterlot Castle to solidify her rule and wait for the heroes to confront her again.
    • Nightmare Moon settles in and informs both Celestia and Shining Armor that she's letting Twilight and the others find the Elements. Celestia, watching her as she handles things, is surprised at how Nightmare Moon is acting. She also admits this is the most accommodating kidnapping she's ever been on the receiving end of.
    • Meanwhile, back in the Everfree, Twilight and her new friends meet Zecora, who agrees to help them on their quest. As they head for Ponyville, they find the first of the Elements, having formed a butterfly-like guardian out of previously dormant Plunder Vines. Fluttershy, by helping an injured Zecora, gets pulled into the Plunder Moth, but is soon released after proving herself worthy of the Element of Kindness. She now has power over plantlife, and Zecora informs them that the same will happen with the others: the Elements will be held within Guardians made of a specific magical element, and by defeating them, the Bearers will earn both the Element and its specific power.
    • Time passes. After a month in Canterlot, Nightmare Moon meets her first group of petitioners, informing them that she's set things up so eternal night will have no negative effects on the environment, showing them that Princess Celestia is perfectly safe, and stripping Prince Blueblood of his positions for trying to overthrow her, then banishes him. Observing all this, Celestia is still confused by some of the comments Nightmare Moon is making, about how she expects the Element Bearers to come for her when they're strong enough. Sometime later, Nightmare Moon gets some unexpected attackers in the form of the Cutie Mark Crusaders, who prove completely ineffective. Amused, Nightmare Moon recruits them to her side.
    • During this same time, the Bearers travel around and earn their Elements. In Appleoosa, they battle a giant sandworm crafted as the guardian of the Element of Honesty, which Applejack earns. Later, in the Crystal Mountains north of Manehatten, Pinkie defeats a Salamander (a reptile of living, magical flames) to earn Laughter.
    • Back in Canterlot, Nightmare Moon continues to solidify her powers, using old but still legal laws to strop the nobles of their legislative privileges over their own lands (they still have judicial powers, but can't pass laws on a whim anymore). She also confirms her actions toward Blueblood were completely legal. Celestia is downright astonished at how much Nightmare Moon's rule has changed and simplified the government while all being well within the law, and wonders if they even need to be saved now. She also learns Blueblood is now navigator aboard a pirate ship and plans to unite all pirates in a coalition. Later, the Cutie Mark Crusaders are assigned the task of trying to style Celestia's mane. Nightmare Moon is most amused.
    • As the Bearers continue their quest, Rarity earns her Element (Generosity and Water) after battling a giant sea serpent in the Hayseed Swamps, and Rainbow Dash earns hers (Loyalty and Wind) by battling a Typhon, or living storm, near Vanhoover and Cloudsdale.
    • Nightmare Moon works on, forming a new House of Commons, and learns some surprising facts about Spike's hidden potential after revealing he's part of the quest. She also steps in when she finds out the general populace intends to try and stop the Element Bearers as the enter the city, now preferring Nightmare Moon's reforms. Appearing before the population, she orders them to stand down, intending to confront them herself.
    • With five Elements active, the group heads for the Everfree, where their final test awaits. Twilight undergoes the final trial, and receives the Element: Magic and Light. All six Elements are united, and the seven head for Canterlot.
    • Four months have passed since Nightmare Moon took power. Traveling through the city and castle, and dealing with various obstacles along the way (including a wooden tank made by the Crusaders, who have willingly joined Celestia in her cage for the final event), the Bearers and Spike finally reach the throne room and confront Nightmare Moon. After a fight, the six charge up the Elements and, as Nightmare Moon whispers the Bad Anon Affirmation, they blast her... only to find she's still alive and unharmed. afterward Nightmare Moon is just as confused as them, until Pinkie realizes what's going on and informs her that she's been mistaken all along: this isn't a game, it's a Player world. Stunned, Nightmare Moon collapses and breaks down crying.
    • Still weeping, Nightmare Moon is surprised when the Crusaders and Celestia emerge from their cage and comfort her. She's also confused when Celestia continues to call her Luna. A voice in her head, one she'd heard before, both in the arcade and as the Bearers prepared to hit her with the Elements, speaks up and reveals that she is Luna: Nightmare Moon is her split personality, created from jealousy and loneliness combined with dark magic. And Celestia is their older sister.
    • Luna also explains how the Elements, which Celestia mis-aimed a thousand years ago, are responsible for them ending up in the arcade, and how she's secretly been supporting Nightmare Moon emotionally all this time. Now, however, the Elements have been used properly, and coupled with their acceptance of what the other represents, Luna and Nightmare Moon will merge back into one. Both and yet neither Luna nor Nightmare Moon, they declare themselves to be Moony.
    • While the others are still surprised, they accept the situation. Even after Moony informs them of the extra bonus enemies she'd prepared (Changelings turned Cybugs in the caverns under Canterlot - she recruited them after catching their queen trying to kidnap and replace Cadance). After much conversation, Moony and Celestia restore the daylight.
    • Moments later, the citizenry bursts in, demanding to know what has happened to their queen. Showing herself alive and unharmed, Moony happily informs them that the war is over, and Equestria is at peace once more. Furthermore, taking a cue from Vanellope, she is no longer queen, but President-for-Life of the Feudal Republic of Equestria, while Celestia claims the position of Vice-President for herself. Everypony approves.
  • Arc 7: Finale (chapters 35-36)
    • In the aftermath of recent events, Moony and Celestia handle straightening out the political side of things, including what legal powers each now has. Moony's final act as Queen is to attend a lesson at the Ponyville schoolhouse as a guest speaker, and gives a lecture on Cutie Marks.
    • Some time later, things are going well. Shining Armor and Cadance have gotten married, which went off without a hitch, and while there was an incident on the honeymoon involving the return of the Crystal Empire, Moony has swayed King Sombra to her side as a new Nightmare General. Things take a surprise turn when Discord emerges and makes a deal with her, giving her a computer with all of the games from the arcade and one other device in return for her not interfering in his own game with the Bearers and Celestia, which she agrees to.
    • After Discord leaves, Moony starts playing the Fix-It Felix Jr. game, and manages to get in contact with Ralph and the others. Unwittingly activating the other machine (an ENCOM Realizer), she releases Ralph from the game and is happily reunited with him. Giving him a brief summary of events, she and Ralph realize that while she agreed not to assist the heroes in fighting Discord... Ralph didn't.
    • Soon after, the Bearers and Discord are all surprised when Ralph shows up, accompanied by Moony, who reminds him of their deal, and the loophole: Ralph didn't promise anything, and she's helping him. The two, accompanied by Chrysalis, Sombra, Wily, Vanellope and Calhoun (the latter three having been Realized), proceed to spend ten minutes terrifying him into surrender, after which Moony introduces the girls to the joys of kart racing.
    • The end.
