Basic Trope: Something good or just convinces a character of God's existence.
- Straight: Alexander's family is targeted by a trained assassin named Damien. When Damien is captured and sent to jail, Alexander exclaims "There is a God!", knowing that he and his family can now rest easy and there is a sense of justice in the universe.
- Exaggerated: Alexander exclaims "There are Gods!" and joins every religion all at once.
- Downplayed: Alexander looks up towards the sky, thoughtfully. He suspects that God may have had something to do with it.
- Justified: In the show's universe, God's power only works if people believe in him. Alexander declaring his faith helps cause miracles.
- Inverted:
- Damien's murder of Alexander's family has Alexander exclaim that there is no God.
- When something good happens to God, he exclaims, "There is an Alexander!"
- Damien is caught, and Alexander now believes in Satan.
- Subverted: Except it turns out that Damien has escaped from prison. "There is a God!... NOT!"
- Double Subverted: Damien is captured and killed, reassuring Alexander of God's existence once again.
- Parodied: Alexander reacts to every minor occurrence, from finding a nickel on the sidewalk to getting a passing grade on his homework, with an enthusiastic shout of "There is a God!"
- Zig-Zagged: Alexander's religion, and thus faith in God, depends on the writer.
- Averted: Alexander is an atheist, and stays that way throughout the series' run.
- Enforced: A Christian educational cartoon wants to show that God exists, and has a character say so.
- Invoked: Alexander's Christian friend, Madison, teaches him that God can make miracles.
- Defied: Alexander is an atheist, and he doesn't think God exists. He attributes good happenings to being the direct result of people in the world, not God.
- Discussed: "You mean Damien got caught? Such good in the world must be the work of God himself!"
- Conversed: "I don't think people in real life base their religious beliefs on one single event."
- Implied: We don't know how Alexander converted to Christianity, but Madison says that he started believing after something big happened.
- Played for Horror: Alexander now believes in a false monster God.
