Basic Trope: A character has a Speech Impediment, but can speak clearly under some circumstance.

  • Straight: Eddie tends to stutter, but he's also an aspiring singer, and doesn't stutter when he sings.
  • Exaggerated:
    • Though Eddie has a stutter, there are several circumstances that make him speak entirely clearly.
    • Eddie entirely drops his stutter after some point.
  • Downplayed: Eddie still stutters somewhat when singing, but not as much.
  • Justified: Truth in Television for many people with speech impediments, who may speak clearly when acting, singing, talking about something they know well, or similar.
