Basic Trope: A character's ears are used to show their emotions.

  • Straight: Depending on how he is feeling, Charlie's ears will move.

  • Exaggerated: Charlie's ears are able to move quite a lot.

  • Downplayed: Charlie's ears do move, but they're not typically noticeable.

  • Justified: Charlie is some kind of animal (or is half-animal) that naturally has ears that move in accordance to their emotions.

  • Zig Zagged: Sometimes Charlie will have this ability, but sometimes he won't.

  • Averted: Charlie's ears are unable to move.

  • Enforced: Charlie is a minimalistic creature with huge ears and no voice. Thea ears are the easiest way to show how he's feeling.

  • Lampshaded: "Charlie, it's like you're talking with you ears!"

  • Invoked: Charlie uses his ears to communicate messages silently.

  • Exploited: Bob looks at Charlie's ears to know how he's feeling.

  • Defied: Tired of his ears always showing his emotions, Charlie wears a brace on his head to keep them in place.
