accidentally killed her friend Sayo during an argument, which manifested her ability to control dead bodies. She controlled Sayo's dead body and pretended that nothing is wrong, however her boyfriend Kaoru began to see something off with her, and when he and his friend went to her apartment to check on her, he saw that she had no pulse and had been Dead All Along. He and his friend reported it to the police and Ai was arrested. Kaoru is now paranoid about the next person he meets being not actually alive.
