The Story of a Fierce Bad Rabbit is a children's book by Beatrix Potter published in 1906.

A gentle rabbit is about to eat a carrot given to him by his mother. He is seen by a fierce rabbit, who wants the carrot himself. The fierce rabbit takes the carrot and deliberately gives a bad scratching to the other rabbit, who hides in a hole. The fierce rabbit's comeuppance arrives when a man with a gun mistakes him for a bird and fires at him. He escapes, but not before the man shoots his tail and whiskers off.
